About the property

We offer a beautiful apartment in an old half-timbered (Fachwerk) house in Wiesbaden Delkenheim. The house was built around 1800 and is part of a historical farm with barn and other buildings. The apartment has been renovated in early 2017. The farm is under historical preservation. The apartment has one bedroom and a sofa-bed in the living room.Delkenheim has good transportation connections but remains quiet. It takes about 15 minutes to reach Wiesbaden or Mainz, and about 30 to reach Frankfurt.

Why David Hart chose Wiesbaden

We have lived in the area for over 25 years and give you unique insights into things to do and see in the region, restaurants, etc... The apartment is spacious and well equipped with a full kitchen, satellite TV, bath and shower and floor heating. But it is also historic. My wife and I have tried hard to make sure that the space is authentic and includes many historical details.

What makes this house unique

Many of our guests like to have breakfast or dinner in the courtyard or wander through the village. There is a winery, plenty of open fields for exploring, and a pedestrian zone with local gardens. Our property is one of the few in town that has remained intact over the centuries and gives a real feel for how a German family farm operated in the 1800s.

A lovely place

We had wonderful days in this historic farm in July 2017, close to Mainz, Wiesbaden and the Taunus mountain range. The apartment (ground floor) is new and really need. The pictures give a true impression. I liked the quality furniture. TV and Wifi worked well. Bakery etc. are just around the corner. Helga and David are very kind hosts, and we had a lovely communication basis with our own German-American experiences. The contact was easygoing. Those, who like old houses worth preserving, will accept a little walking distance (one minute) to the car parked in the main street. When you arrive, do not automatically drive into the lane. First have a look. It’s like a back lane, but possible to use to get the luggage. Next time we will explore Delkenheim a bit more.

Geschmackvoll eingerichtete und verkehrstechnisch günstig gelegene Ferienwohnung

Es ist eine wirklich schöne Erdgeschoß-Wohnung mit großem Wohn-Ess-Raum, einem Badezimmer mit Badewanne und großer Dusche sowie einem Schlafzimmer, in das wir sogar noch unser Babyreisebett stellen konnten. Trotz der sommerlichen Hitze von über 30 ° war es in den Räumen angenehm kühl. Der abgeschlossene Hof lud zum verweilen und für unseren Sohn zum spielen ein.

Die Ausstattung der Wohnung ist sehr gut, auch die WLAN-Geschwindigkeit ist mehr als ausreichend. Ein Wasserkocher wäre ggf. noch eine sinnvolle Anschaffung für die Küche.

Der Eingang zum Gebäude liegt in einer sehr engen Sackgasse, wodurch vor der Tür so gut wie kein Verkehr störte. Ein Hinweis auf die quasi nicht vorhandene Wendemöglichkeit am Ende der Sackgasse wäre gut gewesen, wir haben es versucht und jetzt einige Kratzer mehr im Autolack.

Alles in Allem ein empfehlenswertes Quartier, gerade auch wegen der Nähe zum Flughafen, zu Frankfurt und Wiesbaden, zum Taunus...
