With far-reaching views of unspoilt countryside, these rural retreats celebrate the best of outdoor living without sacrificing on comfort.
Set in the beautiful foothills of the Sierra Sur, Cortijo Vadillo takes its name from the old, local Andalucían word vadillo, which means ‘watery valley’. And the beautiful valley in which the The Source sits is indeed abundant with springs, fertile river farming land, and extensive local flora and fauna.
The mongolian yurts are tiled and close to our our newly built eco-roundhouses within our grove of olive (la oliva) and cherry (la cereza) trees, with views down the valley and up to the mountain topped with the limestone cliff. This area is perfect for small groups, parties, families or couples as it can accommodate up to 12 people. The yurts are furnished with traditional rugs, cushions and blankets with proper beds. We accommodate between 2-4 people in each yurt and we offer them as twins or four singles. Each eco roundhouse can accommodate 2 as a twin.
Here you are within easy access to the ecological toilets and shower area where the sinks and showers have constant hot water. The compost toilets provide manure for the trees and have all the cleanliness and comfort you would expect from standard toilets.
Separate from the other accommodation our charming, open-plan, poolside, casita caters for two people. We can easily add beds for young children or another couple if requested. It offers a comfortable working kitchen/ living area and a sleeping area with a double-bed. The studio comes with its own bathroom with shower.
The self-contained casita is equipped with a refrigerator and a wood-burning stove allows for cosy winter nights.
All our guests are welcome to also use the wider land with many places to relax and unwind. If others are booked into the yurts below then they will also have access to the pool in the day time.
