About Marlene Rogers

Our family loves to ski and snow board. It is the only sport mom can do with her sons! We have great quality family time on our ski trips. We love to hike and this is a picture at the top of Quandary Peak! We have always wanted a place in the mountains to enjoy with our family.

Marlene Rogers purchased this house in 2013

Why Marlene Rogers chose Breckenridge Area

We looked at properties that were ski-in and ski-out but decided the most beautiful area was slightly south of Breckenridge. The trees and mountain vistas are off-the-charts beautiful. This was the first house our realtor showed us and none could compare afterwards.

What makes this house unique

Only 9 miles from Breckenridge Skiing and fabulous restaurants! Also, very close to Vail/ Beaver Creek, Copper Mountain, Keystone. The moose graze right next to the house. There are numerous hiking trails with mountain lakes and waterfalls in close proximity. There are four nearby 14'ers to climb with mountain goats galore. A 14'er is a mountain higher than 14 thousand feet. There are 56 14'ers in Colorado. There are also many local road bike trails.

Guestbook comments from the owner

We had such an amazing time here at the chalet. We were greeted on our first day by a moose in the backyard! Seeing the moose was the perfect way to start our Colorado vacation. We do not see those in Ohio. Although we stayed busy for most of our trip we did find time to curl up and have family movie night. The chalet is so cozy and comfortable it made our entire stay and movie night perfect!

The chalet was the perfect mountain getaway for our family.

  • 5 of 5

The chalet really did feel like a home away from home. Owners cut no corners with the designer decor. We loved everything from the wood paneled walls to the scented candle and aspen tree bundle with white lights in the kitchen. And the views? There aren't enough words. John Muir would approve. Breathtaking. It was also nice to be slightly away from the throngs of spring breakers. We loved making dinner in and taking the gorgeous sunset drive down the mountain to one of Breck's many eateries. We recommend The Hearthstone for an adult dinner and The Swiss Haven for fun family fondue. Finally, the Chalet was the perfect setup for a family whose kids need their own floor. The loft easily sleeps more adults and the adorable bunk setup with its own bathroom and laundry downstairs is very convenient. The owner and property manager were highly responsive and friendly when we had questions before and during our stay. We really don't want to leave today and will certainly be back soon! Thank you sweet maintain chalet for some fun forever memories!

Would stay again

  • 5 of 5

Great modern layout and a wonderful place to hang out with friends. If you are looking for a place to stay outside of the main tourist bustle of Breckenridge then this is the place to be. We had some extremely cold weather whilst staying but the chalet was a warm and comfortable place to stay after a day on the slopes. As noted in previous reviews, you will most likely need a 4x4 to get up up there in the winter, I think its around 11,300FT elevation. Highly recommended!

Fabulous for a family getaway!

  • 5 of 5

We LOVED the chalet. We loved the fact that we felt tucked away in the mountains! The instructions to have four wheel drive were important because you really are "up" in the mountains and the driveway was steep, but we just used the snow shovels that were provided to clear the snow for my front wheel drive vehicle and were able to make it work. They also provided a little sled and it felt like we had everything we needed to make the trip a success. I enjoyed how well stocked the kitchen was and how nice the appliances were because we cooked together a lot. I loved the layout which included a loft, main floor and basement. The floor plan kept you together, but also gave us space to spread out. The chalet had all of the rustic appeal of the mountains, but with all of the modern conveniences. The water was always hot and the house was always at the perfect temperature and the bathrooms had plenty of towels and toiletries. We enjoyed skiing and going down to town to shop. We also did the sleigh ride/dinner from the list of things to do in the house and we really, really enjoyed that. I would highly recommend this property!

Amazing stay!

  • 5 of 5

I stayed at this beautiful chalet with 5 of my girlfriends for the weekend and we had a truly amazing stay. Over and over my friends and I talked about how lovely the decor in the chalet was. The entire home was very clean and the kitchen and the bathroom on the main floor were especially beautiful. The location was wonderful, very close to the main shopping area in Breckenridge and close to lots of trails as well. We completed a portion of the Quandary Peak trail and saw at least a dozen adorable mountain goats! Marlene was so responsive and friendly, I couldn't have asked for a kinder individual to interact with. The only drawbacks of this rental is that the top bunk bed is really difficult to get into and could use a ladder and also the downstairs bathroom would benefit from a curtain separating it from the adjoining bedroom. I would absolutely book the chalet again- the pictures do not do justice to how lovely it is!
