2 Bedroom & 2 Bathroom Central Apartment

This modern 2 bedroom/2 bathroom apartment is furnished and decorated to a high standard and will make a very comfortable base for your visit. The 10ft ceilings make it a very light, bright place to enjoy your stay in Edinburgh. Located in the popular West End, this is an ideal place to stay when visiting Edinburgh. It is at the end of the world famous Princes Street and easy walking distance to all attractions. You will find a wide selection of shops, boutiques, cafes, bars, restaurants, pubs, bistros and grocery stores on stepping out the door. Next to the apartment entrance is a Sainsbury Local (grocery store) where you can buy everything you need for your stay.

The lounge/dining room/kitchen area is bright and spacious with wood floors. There is comfortable sofa seating for 4. The dining area has a table and chairs for 4 and is adjacent to the fully-equipped kitchen. The kitchen has an electric hob, oven, fridge, freezer, dishwasher and small washer/dryer - all that you will need to make life easy while on vacation.

Bedroom 1 is spacious with an en-suite shower room. The bed is a US Queen (UK King) size. Free standing closet provides ample storage for all your belongings. This room overlooks the rear of the property ensuring a peaceful nights sleep. There is a flat screen TV in this bedroom. The en-suite shower room is fully tiled and has a heated towel rail and shaver point.

Bedroom 2 has a double bed and is also at the rear of the property.

A full bathroom is accessed off the hallway. This has a shower over the bath tub. Again with heated towel rail and shaver point.

Access to the local bus system is at the front door. This is a wonderful way of getting around Edinburgh - you would expect a bus to take you along Princes Street within minutes (there are apps to give the real time position of the buses!). Haymarket Station is a 5 minute walk and Waverley Station is a 20 minute walk or 8 minutes by taxi. The apartment is less than 7 miles from the Edinburgh Airport and is connected by bus, tram or taxi.

We loved the central location in the West End of the city, easy walking distance to everything Edinburgh has to offer and access to the wonderful public transport. The finish of the listed building and apartment is beautiful - completed late 2012.

What makes this apartment unique

We aim to provide the best Scottish Hospitality Edinburgh can offer. We want it to be a home from home (although we know it is much smaller than American standards) with everything you need to make your stay very comfortable. We all enjoyed our stay at Shandwick Place.

The apartment was very roomy with updated kitchen and bathrooms. We appreciated being met by Karen and the information she provided. We were pleasantly surprised by the delicious bread, shortbread and other amenities left for us. The location is close to everything and we would love to stay here again. The city of Edinburgh and Scotland were wonderful places to experience.

Owner's Response: The personal meet at the apartment is to handover the keys and to show how things work. It is also a good opportunity for guests to ask any questions about the apartment or Edinburgh. The welcome basket is a few items we provide to our guests to let them have a hot drink and something to eat on arrival.

Great location!

We stayed for a long weekend and really enjoyed our trip. Karen greeted us and was very friendly. The apartment was nice and up a short flight of stairs, but even with a stroller this wasn't an issue for us. Cleanliness was pretty good and there was a tiny bit of noise from the apartment above which I drowned out with white noise but didn't bother anyone else (I sleep very lightly). I never heard any noise from the street at all. The fridge also came stocked with a couple of staples which was very nice. The location of the apartment is wonderful. It's right next to the tram/bus stops and there's a grocery store literally beneath the apartment (no noise from this - only great convenience!). The cherry on top for me was the closeness of the Starbucks (a 1 minute walk from the apartment)! We walked to Edinburgh castle from the apartment and used public transport a couple of times - no cab was needed. Would definitely return for another stay!

Owner's Response: Location is so important for a city break. Despite being in a very central location, the guest confirmed that street noise is not a problem. There are several coffee shops nearby, not just Starbucks. Another guest indicating they would return - the best possible recommendation.

We could not have asked for better accommodations

Facility: roomy, clean, nicely decorated, attention to detail, secure, bright, quiet, comfortable and with all the conveniences of home.

Wonderful Experience

Well appointed and well located!

This apartment is spacious, clean, well stocked and well located within walking distance of everything in this incredible city. While the street in front is busy, mostly during the day, the apartment is very quiet and peaceful. I would stay again without question. And I can barely wait to return!

The apartment is located on Shandwick Place, which gives excellent public transport access (including direct access to/from the airport) and walking distance to the central sites. While the road is busy, the apartment has secondary double glazing to the living room at the front and the bedrooms are to the rear. Pleased the guests found the apartment to be very quiet and peaceful. For us, the most positive endorsement is when a guest says they would stay again - we achieved that here. We would love to have you back to stay when next in Edinburgh.

GREAT location to sites and pubs

We ( 2 couples) stayed in the apt August 31st - September 3rd, 2016. My communications with the owner, Andrew, we returned promptly and his property manager, Karen, was delightful. The location could not have been better, the bus and tram from airport drop you off in front of the building. Karen, gave us some provisions to get us started. Everything else you might need can be found right next door at the market. There is also one across the street, Starbucks is just down the block.

The unit really is in easy walking distance to the castle and other sites, as well as MANY great pubs.

The unit had everything we needed, the beds were comfortable and the unit was clean. Nice that we each had our our full bathrooms.

I would highly recommend this unit for your stay in Edinburgh.

Our apartment is within easy walking distance of the Castle, the Royal Mile and most of Edinburgh's major attractions. Stepping out the main door you will find colourful, stylish boutiques and some of the city's most-loved pubs and bars which combine to create a bohemian feel to this part of Edinburgh. In the surrounding streets, award-winning retailers and restaurants live side-by-side with inspired architectural buildings.

This is a good base for day trips to Glasgow, St Andrews, Stirling and the Borders. Visit one of 12 Edinburgh Festivals - Fringe, International, Books, Film, Art, Jazz and Blues to name just a few. Easy access to the local bus system and taxis if you don't want to walk. Around 30 minutes from the airport by tram, bus or taxi.
