A nice house in a great location for exploring Northern Ireland

  • 5 of 5

This house was exactly as described. It's modern and comfortable and within easy walking distance of shops and Bushmills distillery. It was well-equiped, and more spacious than anticipated. It was also lovely and clean on arrival (not all rental houses are, as we have found out in the past!) My grown-up children were impressed with the wifi as so much better than at our house, (and we live near London!) There really isn't anything bad I can say about this house, as it fulfilled all our requirements. However, although not a big deal,(and I am being picky), it would have been nice to have some shelving in both bathrooms for wash bags etc. and maybe some hooks on doors or walls to hang outer wear. Towels were provided. however it would have been nice to have a small towel each, as well as a bath towel, as I ended up using the kitchen towel I had brought with me for my hair. However, there was plenty of storage in the bedrooms, and plugs conveniently situated near mirrors, which made me very happy!.

There is so much to do in the area, and we were blessed with great weather so visited most of the normal tourist places. Can recommend visiting the Giant's causeway and Carrick -a-Rede, (go to both early to avoid tour buses and big queues), but we also spent time on Ballycastle beach, visited Derry, and went to The Titanic Experience in Belfast. The distillery is a must too, interesting even if you aren't a whiskey drinker.

We are Game of Thrones fans, so visited some of the filming sites such as The dark hedges.

We had not been to Northern Ireland before, and had such a nice holiday, that we would be very happy to return one day, and stay here again.

Owner's Response: Dear Vanessa Thanks very much for your favourable review. We're very pleased that you enjoyed the house and the locality. It certainly is convenient to everywhere you would want to visit on the Causeway Coast. We try to make sure the house has everything and more that our guests will need and we always leave it spotless for them. We also appreciate your comments about shelves etc, and will try to have some of those in place for our next visitors. We hope you will come back to Northern Ireland soon! Best wishes Alan and Tricia

Beautiful, clean house close to everything

  • 4 of 5

The home of Alan and Patricia Armstrong is extremely clean, modern, and ideal for a family visiting the local sights. It's even better than what is pictured. The place is a good 15 minute walk from town, where you can take a bus to all the sights. There are two small grocery stores and a plethora of excellent restaurants, too. I highly reccomend The Bushmills Inn restaurant and The Distillers Arms at Tartine. And for great Fish and Chips, The Cod's Way. Excellent food and service at all three spots. The town is so quaint and cute and the locals are very friendly. It's also not too far from other big spots like Belfast or Port rush. As for the home, there's a lovely fireplace for use, a washing machine (no dryer though, as is common in the UK) three separate bedrooms, two baths, and all rooms are sizeable yet cozy, and the wifi is very fast, to boot! The only down side we experienced is a small detail- there are only the amount of towels and sheets for the exact number of people in your group- no extra provided. There's also no welcome package as some homes do in other places we've stayed, there's no wood for the fire, no spare toiletries, including toilet paper either, so I reccomend stopping and grabbing those few items first before you arrive. It's a small thing compared with everything else, though and the only reason I dont give it an overall five star rating- I really wish I could do 4 1/2, though because we genuinely loved our stay here. Overall, this was a splendid home to stay in- quiet, close to town and sights, excellent wifi, safe, and well worth the awesome low price. I'd definitely stay again and Alan and Patricia make staying there a breeze. I'd reccomend it to anyone looking to visit the amazing local sights of Bushmills

Nice home near town

  • 4 of 5

We were pleased with the home. We could walk into the town to shop or eat which was a plus. It also was close to The Giants Causeway and the whiskey distillery.

We did have trouble with the front door lock and the DVD player but other than those we were good.
