Burlingame beautiful, Villa so so.
We've been going to the Sapphire area for over 30 years. However, we have never stayed in Burlingame and were very impressed. The development's grounds were immaculate and clean...as you might expect from a club with its reputation. While we did have a couple of maintenance issues during our stay, the Management company was extremely attentive and quick to respond.
The Villa, however, was less impressive. While the entrance to the Villa was nice, one gets a sense that the overall maintenance hasn't been up to speed.
For example, when opening the front door to the living room there was a musty smell...like the place had been closed up for a time. Then there was a flag pole by the front door, where the flag had fallen against the siding...not sure how may people would have walked past this and not seen or fixed it. Then there was the missing door to the laundry closet and the lack of cleanliness of the deck, the grill, and the carpet in the enclosed porch. Overall, in our opinion, it didn't quite measure up to the standards of a place at that price point.
On the positive side, the location was very quiet and peaceful, with the sounds of a waterfall not far away, and the size of the unit was great for a family-plenty of beds, spaces to spread out, etc.
