family fun near the beach
We were able to accommodate two small families and my parents for a week together at the beach. The house was a short walk to the beach, and the outside seating under the tree was heaven! The recommendations left at the house for coffee shops and restaurants were spot on. We went to several and enjoyed them all (especially Pannikin, The Promiscuous Fork, La Clochette, and Cafe Vahik--add Bak'd and The Taco Stand for the carne asada tacos). Parking was easy and fit three cars so we didn't have to always fight for street parking.
This is a clean and cute little house with a great yard for two larger dogs.
Pros- Very close to the beach and down town La Jolla activities. Shannon was quick to respond to text messages and answer questions. Dropped by a coffee pot and broom once we discovered there wasn’t one. The 7/11 was super convenient for last minute things.
Cons- There is a restaurant/bar behind the house that can get loud.
There were liquid ant traps on the floor which my toddler and dog picked up. Had to buy trash bags, toilet paper, laundry detergent.. pretty much everything, not much was provided for the week stay. Otherwise a cute house.
Thank you for your comments, we are so glad that you enjoyed the house, big yard, proximity to the beach and downtown La Jolla, as well as our responsiveness! We go above and beyond to ensure our guests comfort and make sure that they have the best time possible on their vacations! We do supply two rolls of toilet paper for each bathroom as a starter, as well as paper towels in the kitchen. We have had many, many happy guests stay with us ( and many who return again) and we look forward to being a part of many more great vacations!
Our stay was perfect. Eight adults and two dogs. We never had an issues and will continue to book with the same owners property in La Jolla. Thank you for having us as our vacation was to short but will always hold good memories during our stay ❤️
Thank you for your review! We love having you all stay with us, and welcome you back again soon!
La Jolla June 2019
Clean, convenient, ample parking, plenty of serviceware/ pots & pans and small appliances in kitchen. Close to beach and restaurants. Private and quiet.
Lovely cottage close to beach and village
We rented the cottage long term and was overall happy with the property and it’s proximity to beach and La Jolla village/cove. Yard was great for the dog and the kids.
Great location and spacious home
To me, the cottage is larger than it seemed in the pics. We had 3 adults and 3 kids but it would accommodate more. Don't be deterred by the 7-11 being close; creates no problem, just convenience, plus they have a great coffee selection ; ). Beds were comfortable, the kitchen had tons of dish ware and utensils especially for the kiddos. Read the welcome instructions: there was no back up for paper products so you may want to buy that asap. The host responded quickly when we had a minor issue. The fenced-in yard was good for our kids, and there are a boatload of beach toys. The beach is within walking distance, and although LaJolla traffic in and out can jam up, we were an easy drive to all the SD attractions. We took the train up to Disney for a day and I would recommend it - a but pricey but worth it.
Wind n sea is a lovely area of la jolla! Our house is 2 1/2 blocks to the beach and also within walking distance to the village. We are close to restaurants, shops, a spa, exercise facilities including a heated public pool and tennis courts.
