Wake up to sunshine and watch the sun move across Winnegance, the tidal river you'll see from the deck and our home's many south-facing windows. Enjoy your coffee and watch the changing light bring the meadow and water to life. Grab the house binoculars and enjoy the birds. Or, let your imagination run wild and imagine the schooners that were built along the nearby shores.
When it's time to eat, you can dine al fresco on the deck or come indoors to the great room's table in front of the French doors just off the deck. Fancy a water view? Pull up a stool to the counter. In the mood for fresh pastry? The Winnegance General Store’s bakery is a hop-skip away.
If you like to cook, the large and well-equipped kitchen with new stainless steel appliances is at your disposal, while the island makes food preparation a breeze. There's always plenty of ice and cold water from the refrigerator, and we provide chill packs for your outings. If you prefer a coffee maker, it's there for you. A French press? It's ready and waiting. Tea? You bet. Appliances include a coffee grinder, microwave, blender, Cuisinart, waffle iron, and mixer. For lobsters or clams, we supply a large pot, butter dishes, and utensils.
When you return from your day's outing, it's time to relax. Two zero gravity loungers may lure you outdoors with a book, binoculars, or a cool beverage. The teak table with 6 chairs and an umbrella makes another great place to hang out. And the gas grill is at your disposal. Just off the deck is a yard for outdoor play.
Or, there's high speed wifi and plenty of comfortable places to set up your laptop. If you need quiet, the formal dining room makes the perfect place to do some work. It's also a great place to set up a puzzle (provided) or play a game (provided). If you would enjoy a spirited game of ping-pong, just head downstairs.
A flat-screen "smart" TV offers basic cable and streaming with Netflix and Amazon. A DVD is also available. Two comfortable living areas give you plenty options and space to spread out.
Take a walk to the end of our cul-de-sac and you’ll see the Doubling Point Lighthouse on the Kennebec River. You might also happen to see boat traffic navigating the sharp turn in the river here. For walkers, it’s easy to reach Webber Ave. and Washington Street which parallels the mighty Kennebec River.
The house offers a one-car garage with a garage door opener and direct access to the house.
For beachgoers, we provide a State Park Beach Pass good at Popham and Reid State Parks. There are also 6 beach chairs, an umbrella, 2 boogie boards, and a bocce set. After your outings, there’s a rinsing area just outside the mudroom entrance where you can leave your shoes and flip flops.
