APARTMENT WITH LARGE TERRACE / BARBECUE, ROOM WITH BILLIARDS, SOFA-BED 1 BEDROOM

The apartment has plenty of natural light and has an area of ​​60 m2 (housing) + 32m2, (terrace).

Abroad:

 It has a large private terrace with unobstructed sea view, with chairs / loungers, dining table with chairs for 4 or more people and a barbecue.

Inside:

Room - It has a sofa bed (2 single beds), a pool table and air conditioning.

Bedroom - It has a large double bed and a wardrobe with hangers and a pouf. It has linens.

Kitchen - It is fully equipped with dishwasher, stove, oven, microwave, coffee machine, toaster, frogorifico and kitchen utensils.

Laundry - laundry with washing machine, hot water boiler, ironing board and iron.

Bathroom - It has a bath, toilet and bidet, towels and a hairdryer. Also has beach towels.

The apartment is located on the top floor (2nd), without lift and has a maximum capacity for 4 people.

It is a 1 minute walk from the beach and belongs to a small fishing / rural village, with all the mini supports indispensable to have a good stay (please see the comments), such as restaurants, butchers, grocery stores and mini market, pharmacies, Fish lobster, etc.

The nearest beach is at the end of the street, a 1-minute walk (Praia Nova), classified with blue flag and long walkway that take you to the "Tree" village (north) and to "Leça da Palmeira" (south ).

Distances:

- The apartment is (by car) only 20 minutes from Porto and 10 minutes from Matosinhos, (IKEA, Jumbo, Marshoping Shopping Center), Vila do Conde, Póvoa de Varzim and Francisco Sá Carneiro Airport.

Vila Chã has access to the A28 (motorway) that takes you to important cities of the North of the Country such as: Braga, Guimarães, Viana do Castelo, Ponte de Lima, Serra do Geres Natural Park, Spain etc. Also as access to the national road (EN13).

About 3 kms away you will find the nearest metro station "Modivas Norte / outlet" with destination to the city center of Porto and to the airport, as well as to other cities (Matosinhos, Maia, Gaia, Gondomar, Vila do Conde, Povoa Of Varzim).

In Vila Chã there is a small public transport network, '' Arriba Bus '', which takes you to the subway station (Mindelo or Árvore) and Vila do Conde.

1 - Based on my impression of the owner through his emails, we extended our stay from a week to 12 days. This proved an excellent decision. Carlos is a very nice man who takes great pride and care in his spacious, well furnished apartment. It is furnished to a high standard. The large terrace gives great views of the sea and spectacular sunsets. The immediate location is a fishing village with long boardwalks, behind excellent beaches. The outstanding feature is the fast, modern metro connection to Porto to city that repays multiple visits. With a car you can explore the Douro valley and take a train or boat expedition up it..Also there is a range of towns within easy traveling distance. We used the Portsmouth / Bilbao ferry which combined with the superb, empty Spanish / Portuguese motorways made for an easy journey.

We do not usually return to places, preferring new experiences, but we are making an exception of Carlos's apartment.

2 - We have just spent a happy and relaxing week in Carlos's apartment in delightful Vila Cha. The apartment is clean, comfortable, well-equipped and homely - the proximity to the sea and views of the sea are wonderful. The set-up worked very well with our lively two year old. We enjoyed early morning runs along the boardwalk followed by a bracing dip in the sea. The beach was busy with locals every day. Local restuarants and shops served as well as the local taxi driver for trips to Vila de Conde, the subway for a day out in Porto and airport transfer. Highly recommended for a taste of Portuguese village seaside life.

We had a fantastic stay in this apartment. The apartment is a real home from home with everything thought of to make your stay welcoming and comfortable.

The terrace is spectacular, a view you could never tire of, we watched the fabulous sun sets and even sat through a short lightening storm!

Great base for holiday in North Portugal / Porto!

We have had a lovely 6-day stay Carlos' apartment and would highly recommend it to couples and small families planning holidays in Northern region of Portugal/Porto. It is very clean, spacious, furnished to high standards and with good taste. It has everything we need and more. The unique features are its snooker table where my 11-year-old son was initiated to the sport, and the sea-view terrace where we have had dinner with a spectacular sunset every evening. As mentioned in all reviews, Carlos is a great host throughout the booking and reception. We were wowed by the apartment on first sight and felt at home right away. Vila Cha is a small quiet fishing village, which we like as it's not as touristy as Algarve, and the villagers/shop people are all very friendly and accommodating, though with limited English (We feel bad that we can't speak more Portuguese other than "Obrigado"!). There's a supermarket called Portela which locals buy their grocery from, about 3 minutes' drive, and 3 good restaurants (Salitre, Cha Villa, and Estalerio) within walking distance from the apartment. If you don't have a car, there's a butcher, pharmacy, mini-mart (pricier) and a small cafe right nearby. Bonus: there's also a style outlet / shopping centre on days you don't want to lie on the beach! The sea isn't as warm as the Med, though. For me, it's no issue because I can enjoy the sun on the terrace, without all the mess of sand from the beach. There's also constant breeze, and so it's not as hot (average at 25 - 30 degree during our stay). A car is essential if you plan to see more of the region. We passed by Vila do Conde and Braga, and visited picturesque old towns such as Guimareas and Ponte de Lima. Of course, we also visited and stayed in Porto after Vila Cha, and just realized from Carlos that his daughter Anna has a flat in Porto for rent as well. Porto is so beautiful and so easy to navigate on foot. We returned our car to the airport after 6 days at Carlos' apartment and then took the metro to Porto city centre for only 2 Euro a ticket! The small cafes in Porto are also very cheap and good for breakfast (less than 5 Euro for 3 of us!). It's a pity that we didn't book the 1-day cruise up the Duoro valley in advance, and it's all snatched up when we enquired in Porto. We'll definitely come back. Note: Children under 11 - 12 years are charged usually half price for all admissions and tours, but not the Porto metro.

Great apartment near the beach

We booked this apartment for our stay in June. Booking process with Carlos is excellent. Carlos met us at the apartment to show us round. The apartment is modern and very clean. Beach is only a minute walk to end of street, which for June was very quiet. Large balcony catches the sun most of the day. It would benefit from another sun lounger as there was only one. Two other wooden chairs for use on balcony. The apartment itself is very nice with all the amenities needed for your stay. Only a handful of local shops, so a car is essential. The metro is a 10 minute drive from the apartment, with free parking which is inexpensive and very reliable for trips into Porto and surrounding areas. TV only has a couple of English channels. Overall a very nice stay in the apartment.

great holiday-apartment

We enjoyed our stay here so much: a very warm welcome in a super clean apartment, with a terrific outside area and great sea-views. The wonderful city of Porto is quite easy reachable by public transport, but the village of Vila Cha itself and its surroundings are also worth the stay. There are several good restaurants nearby, one of these places became one of our all-time favourites for the great fish and superb sea-views.

Vila Chã is a very typical village in the north of Portugal near Porto. Porto it's known by the famous Porto wine. From Porto you can go by excursion boat up the Douro river into the heartland of Porto's wine production region. In Matosinhos you can find good fish and seafood restaurants.

Coast / Beach:

Vila Chã is a small fishing village between both Mindelo and Labruge beaches and near Vila do Conde. Vila Cha is good for fishing, diving, underwater and have diving centers in Leça da Palmeira. Fresh fish every day (car) near the apartment and in the fisherman`s beach (200 meters). The apartment is located near the "Mindelo bird natural reserve" and "Castro Sampaio" nice for walking ...

The nearest airport is Francisco Sá Carneiro (Porto airport) is only 15 minutes drive to the apartment.
