3 bedroom, 2 bathroom waterfront near Gulf of Mexico
About Joy Suldo
We are two retired couples who have been friends for years. We have vacationed together all over Florida and the states. Currently, one couple lives in Georgia and we live in Kissimmee, Florida. My husband & I are retired Florida teachers, and the other couple retired from Disney World.
Joy Suldo purchased this House in 2012
Why Joy Suldo chose Weeki Wachee Gardens
We have boated on Florida's beautiful gulf coast for the last 40 years to catch fish, crabs and scallops. We chose this property when we retired because of it's many freshwater and saltwater activities. It has become the perfect second home.
What makes this House unique
We fell in love with this home because it is on a peaceful canal off the pristeen Weeki Wachee River, and we can boat from our dock to the Gulf. The area is filled with manatees, and surrounded by state parks and untouched scenery. We catch freshwater fish such as bass and bluegill, as well as saltwater species such as snapper, redfish, sheepshead, trout, mullet and crabs RIGHT OFF OUR DOCK. Larger fish and scallops are minutes away in the Gulf. Swimming and boating options are unbelievable - kayaking, paddleboarding, canoeing, and tubing are perfect for the river, and our 17' motorboat easily navigates the river to the Gulf. The dock is 75 feet along the length of the property and fits two boats with enough room left for the kayaks.

Another Wonderful Vacation!
This is our first time with a VRBO in this area. We have family and friends here in Weeki Wachee and have been coming for 20+ years, so know the area well. Just too many of us this time to stay with family. Joy is easy to work with, communication with her is great. Loved the screened in area out back. We saw 11 Manatees our second mornining there. The house is very well stocked, cant think of anything we didnt have. The new leather furniture is so comfy I'm going to buy the same thing. The king size bed was so comfortable, slept very well. Plenty of room, decorated so cute, so clean. We loved our stay and would highly recommend staying here!
The home was so welcoming as soon as we arrived. We felt right at home and there was every amenity anyone would want. All we needed was our suitcase and a few groceries. There was a nice screen house on the canal where we spent our evenings enjoying a warm breeze and the soft dock lights reflecting off the water . We will definitely return if dates are available next year. I would encourage anyone to rent this home.
Thanksgiving dinner out on the patio
We stayed at Joy' s Waterfront Home last week for the week of Thanksgiving. The home was roomy and had everything we needed for the Big meal. We noticed the propane smoker and smoked a turkey breast. It turned out fantastic! We also used the patio grill and all of the kitchen equipment for several homade meals.
The house is also near very nice restaurants and we did try out a couple of these as well. We had a lovely time and thoroughly enjoyed the house and the Central location to Pine Island, Rogers Park, Pederson Park and we even did a short hike at Aripeka Sandhills preserve.
We had a great time and highly recommend this rental.
Very nice house with a lot of amenities
We stayed at the Suldo house for over a month and loved it. The house is big and clean. They are fully connected with Internet and phone which was very important to me because I was working remotely during the vacation (cell connection is not great for Verizon).
We would launch daily from the dock for a quick ride over to the Weeki Wachee River at the end of the canal where there is a great "sand bar" that my family would swim and play at.
In the evening we would enjoy the enclosed barbecue and smoking lanai - swinging on the swing and listening to music.
The Suldo's are very nice and caring hosts who gave us lots of fishing advice and suggestions for places to go. The neighbors are also very friendly and helpful.
We really enjoyed our time there. We brought our own kayaks and paddle boards as well as our bass boat and I would advise either bringing your own kayaks/paddle boards or arranging to rent some for your stay.
Very nice for the area.
The house was very nice and clean, very comfortable.
Comfortable and homey.
A lovely home with all the comforts of home. The location in Weeki Wachi ; right on the canal and in a local neighborhood provided a great get away for us. It was very quiet and off the beaten path. The owners are wonderful people and were quick to respond to any question or concern. They made everything easy for us.
Must see the world-famous mermaid show at Weeki Wachee Springs, also home of Buccaneer Bay, Florida's only spring fed waterpark. Admission includes a jungle boat ride! Also must experience the 5-mile canoe/kayak run from Weeki Wachee Springs to the Gulf, with return transportation provided back to the Springs. Pine Island Beach is a beautiful white sand public beach and park, also a must-see. All these places are only 5 minutes away! RIGHT IN THE BACK YARD, must see the endless manatees that congregate in the Weeki Wachee River, especially at Hospital Hole, entryway to a 150-foot deep dive right in the middle of the river.
