The two houses are connected by a breezeway that provides unusual privacy between the master suite in the lower house and the 6 bedrooms in the upper house making it ideal for two separate families vacationing together, or just great separation for members of the group.
Screened lanais and decks allow gentle Pacific breezes to pass through the houses while enjoying incredible views from the expansive bay windows and numerous skylights. Fabulous for star-gazing and bird watching, numerous streams and rivers run through the valley and create an unparalleled tropical adventure!
Our private guide will escort you into the valley and provide personalized insights into the rich history and lore of the valley and its traditions as well as the varied plant and animal life. Ask us for details.

This property is absolutely stunning. My husband and I had the pleasure of hosting our wedding here and it was perfect. Some of our guests stayed in the second house, which worked out great. Every room was unique and had spectacular views of the valley. Everyone was blown away at the lush landscape and unique, beautiful homes we had the pleasure of staying in. The entire valley is very lush and the 30 minute hike to the beach or 2 minute walk to the waterfall are beautiful.
The owners are very accommodating and welcoming. They checked in several times to make sure we had everything we needed and everything was going well with the wedding. The house was very clean and well maintained. We couldn't have asked for better hosts. I wish we could have stayed longer. I could spend days exploring the valley on foot, visiting the beach, and relaxing in one of the many living areas of the houses.
You'd be hard pressed to replicate an experience like the one you'll get at this property. Skip the resort and come here. You won't regret it.
This was the perfect location for our retreat. Amenities for those who are not into roughing it and totally off any beaten path so we could all disconnect. We were able to sink in and be fully present with one another, since we did not see another person the entire time. Beautiful, peaceful and plenty of games and books for those rainy valley days.
We had a truly magical experience! From the first day of our arrival the property manager, Sukumar, gave us a warm welcome and showed everything we needed to know about the houses including how to pick the endless exotic fruit! We were mesmerized by all of the tropical plants and flowers on our way to the property and surrounding the house. Truly a piece of paradise. In fact my sister had wanted to visit the Botanical Gardens at nearby Akaka Falls but after staying here she said she didn't need too -- how could anything top this!?!?
You felt like you were on your own private oasis. The Big Island has always felt more special and authentic versus the other Hawaiian islands; this place solidified that even more! We felt as if we were visiting somewhere really far away like Ecuador or Costa Rica--all the lush foliage, the jungle animal sounds at night, and the incredible hikes just outside our door. The 2-minute walk to the nearby waterfall was beautiful but the longer walk to the beach was worth it too! On the way there, we would spot the wild horses-- some would even approach you and eat carrots out of your hand. The beach itself was wild and thrilling -- dark, black sand with fun waves to boogie board in.
When we weren't exploring the gorgeous scenery outside we had a peaceful, downtime inside. The home was spacious with tall vaulted ceilings and lots of places to enjoy yourself. We made the Lanai "adults only" so while our kiddos/their cousins enjoyed a big table inside to themselves we had cocktails and civilized conversation on the screened in porch. There were also lots of board games and drawing paper. We played many games of Uno, Clue, Monopoly, Candy land and more with the kids.
We will always remember and cherish our family vacation here. Some of the best memories we've ever made together! My niece said it best: "I wish we didn't ever have to leave. I wish this was our home and we could just live here forever."

Amazing house located deep in Valley. A great escape for a family. What a treat to escape our crazy life. House manager and his family were extremely helpful and made sure we were settled into house.
Amazing place and very helpful guide in Sukumar to get to the remote location!
Waipio Valley is a sanctuary of Hawaii tradition with taro patches, indigenous fauna and flora, and an occasional greeting from one of the gentle wild horses that roam the valley. With a 20 minute walk to the black sand beach through lush rainforest, 5 minute walk to waterfall pools for swimming, or hiking the switchback trails up the majestic cliff side, there is adventure around every corner.
