Come to beautiful Inverness! Bike or walk the beautiful 46 mile paved Withlacoochee Trail. Rent a boat or bring your own and enjoy sunny days and sparkling waters. Experience scalloping in the Gulf! Go tubing down a crystal clear river, kayak or swim with the manatees!! Bring your bicycle or use ours to travel through parks, natural areas, and small unique towns on the Withlacoochee State Trail, which is only 3 blocks from the cottage. Inverness is near the center of the trail which is a paved 46 mile path. Stay in our quaint cottage one block from Lake Henderson where you will find some of the best fishing in Florida or use our canoe for a fun outing on the lake.

We moved to Citrus County in 2007 because we love the 'magic' in this area. With all the lakes and springs here, there is never a shortage of things to do! Inverness is the perfect small town with many opportunities for fun or relaxation.
Diane Calfee purchased this cottage in 2013
We bought the cottage because it is close to the Withlacoochee Bicycle/walking trail and Lake Henderson.
The cottage was completely equipped with everything we needed to make our visit enjoyable. We enjoyed the location and took full advantage of the walking/biking trail as well as the lake with the canoe which were all close by. We also enjoyed the city of Inverness with it's quiet and uniqueness and friendly people.
Cottage is well located and inside, it has everything you need for a comfortable stay. Diane, the owner is ready to assist you on anything you need and even provides a load of information on a binder at the unit. Quiet peaceful neighborhood. Definitely a place I am recommending to all my friends
The cottage had everything we needed and more! Dianne, was kind and helpful all the time. A true pleasure to rent from her and her hospitality goes above and beyond. The cottage is located just minutes from downtown Inverness. We walked downtown instead of driving, it was that close. The center of town has many little shops and restaurants. Also near about 0.3 miles you can find Publix and Winn Dixie. The home is within 3 blocks from FL longest paved bike trail, which was beautiful on its own, with lots of shades and pretty sights. Just about 20 min away is Rainbow Springs River. The house was well stocked and Dianne was open to accommodate any of our needs. The town is small and charming, just what one needs to rest, relax and enjoy nature all year around. Rich in history and peaceful. Folks are extremely friendly! Our family cannot wait to come back to Inverness! Thank you Dianne!
During a recent relocation we stayed for two weeks at this wonderful little home. Our family was very comfortable. The home had all of the amenities that were advertised and we found that we lacked nothing during our stay other than our luggage. We will happily return! The owners were wonderful to work with both by email and by telephone.
We were waiting to close on a house we were purchasing and this place was an absolute gem! After staying here I can only say that if you stay anywhere else you will pay too much and you will miss out on the best place to stay in Inverness,FL! The paved bike/walking trail is just a few blocks away. The atmosphere of this cottage is so welcoming and comforting that you feel as if you own it and it is so relaxing! A home away from home!
We were so fortunate to find such a terrific rental as the Citrus Property. We found everything neat and spotless and our hostess was willing to make any changes, get any additional kitchen or linen or comfort needs we requested, although no additional things were needed. The property was very comfortable in a nice neighborhood. We found the access to the Withachoochee Trail within walking distance and the nearby lake offered a perfect place to view the fish, turtles and occasional gators without being threatened. And the beautiful birds were an added bonus. We loved the access to flea markets, beaches and other nice communities within a few minutes drive. We look forward to spending the next and many more winters on Citrus Avenue.
We totally enjoyed our month-long stay at this house and in Inverness. It is a pretty town with a lot of activities for everyone. We liked that the house is close to the trails, the water, cafes, and shops. It is also convenient to other places such as Homasassa, Crystal River and Webster Flea Market. The owners are wonderful and available if needed. The beds were comfortable and there are three tvs in the house. There is the use of bicycles and canoes included with the property.
The 'Nature Coast' of Citrus county has many activities. The 46 mile Withlacoochee Trail runs through the area where you can walk, bike and horseback ride down the trail. Inverness is near the center of the trail. We have several large lakes, and many rivers. You can fish, canoe and kayak many different waters. Citrus County is the only place in the world that you can swim with the Manatees. Also in the area you will find air boat rides, scalloping, a great auction house, art gallery with cafe, Historic Courthouse Museum, Heritage Hall Museum, putt putt golf, jet ski on the river out to the Gulf of Mexico and much more!
