This house is situated at the entrance to our 41 acre farm. The property has a security gate at the entrance to which our guests are given an access code. We have long horned cattle, goats, horses and chickens and grow a small variety of fruit and produce.
This four-bedbroom place on the White Rooster Farm was designed specifically to easily accommodate groups up to eight in size. The common area is spacious and very comfortable. There are two refrigerators for extended stays by large groups. There is a laundry room and a fully functional kitchen. The four bedrooms are split with two on each side of the house. The beds are very comfortable, even the single beds. Each set of bedrooms has a great bathroom. Two doors separate sleeping quarters from the common area so noise can be minimized for those who sleep late. The place was spotless. Everything you might need for cooking utensils, pots, pans etc. is provided. Internet wasn't working but that was not Debbie's fault; the provider needed to come out and make the repair. The place is in the country to be sure, but is protected with a security gate. Very quiet and serene. We had a great time. Thank you, Debbie! We will return on future trips.
Out of a 10 this was a 100
Property was more than expected
We were 8 people more than adequate space
The animals and property are kept in immaculate condition
Debbie is vet helpful with what ever you need
Would definitely come back
First impression was how clean it was. Debbie was a gracious host and was patient with out late arrival to show us her house. We loved the farm and we all did the 1 mile hike around the property. We met all of the farm animals, chickens, goats, horses, long horn cattle, and even saw two photogenic box turtles. We also loved the private heated pool. We took advantage of this a few times. It is located a short walk up the driveway.. As you would imagine in a rural setting, the wifi was slow and it only had one tv, but we didn't really need it, even though our 11 YO may argue that point somewhat. We had a lovely stay and would definitely return.
Took a long weekend to go scalloping on the west coast. Our trip involved our family, which included our children's families. The property was very nice and the little ones enjoyed the animals on the farm. The pool was refreshing and enjoyable each evening. Again, a great place the entire family enjoyed. Will be at the top of our list for future trip to this area. Highly recommend.
We had a great weekend working with and training our Guide Dog's in training White Rooster Farm. The house was wonderful and the farm full of unique experiences for our pups in training. We had a tired group of puppies and their people by the time our weekend was over. Our hosts welcomed us and opened the farm to our pups. We cannot thank them enough.
We were very happy to have a clean, comfortable home base to relax in when we were in the Homosassa area. We had major vehicle issues before arriving so it was even more important to us to have a place where we could feel comfortable and relaxed. The house is roomy and welcoming with everything aside from food being there ready for you. The pool was a good deal of fun for the kids. Debbie and her husband are great folks who take pride in their property. We enjoyed the tour of the farm that Debbie gave us and it was wonderful to see her passion. This was a highlight of our time in the area. We would definitely stay at this property again if in the area. Thanks so much!

Citrus county offers something for everyone. With miles and miles of rivers and waterways leading to the Gulf of Mexico there are endless activities for all ages. Biking, boating, snorkling, diving, fishing, airboating, scalloping, swimming, rafting, and kayaking just to name a few. My favorite thing I did was swimming with the manatees. They are the only wild mammal I know that seem to enjoy human contact. One of the laws is that a person cannot swim toward a manatee but that is not necessary since they just swim up to you. I would recommend going with a guide that tells you what you need to know, provides wetsuits and is knowledgable about manatees. Our guide also filmed us underwater and the purchased video makes a great memory. If you prefer dry land, the Withlacoochee State Forest has more than 44,000 acres of old wild Florida to explore. There are horse trails, hiking and birding trails, old caves to explore and even an old ghost town. We also have a paved bike and walking trail that is 48 miles long. Most of the local bike trail heads are within 20 minutes from the farm. The trail is part of the rails to trails system and passes through the very historic and quaint towns of Inverness and Floral City. The trail is mostly tree lined and passes by parks and old Florida farms and ranches. If shopping and antiquing makes you happy we have plenty of that too and while you're at it visit the flea markets and farmers markets on the weekend. In the evenings after dinner go dancing or watch a live performance at one of the local theatres.
