Nice Cottage

  • 4 of 5

Cottage was great ,close to lake ,very relaxing but while we were there the weather wasn't very good, so couldn't do much outside. Next time we go will be in warmer weather .Hosts were very nice !! I will recommend this place to my friends .

Cozy cottage

  • 4 of 5

The cottage is very quaint and clean. It's small, good for 2 people, and updated with a fresh and modern look inside. The yard has only a slight slope, making it easy to walk down to the lake (no steps!). The owners are very friendly. But renters should know, the houses are very close together. We had some awesome bonfires into the wee hours of the morning!!!

convenient to the ferry!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed two nights prior to me boarding the Badger to return to Michigan. Grandpas place is very comfortable for a small family and conveniently situated for Manitowoc and also for a visit to Two Rivers State Park. We enjoyed our stay very much. The grandkids loved the kayaks, paddleboat, water trampoline and swimming. We appreciated being able to have our dog there as well. The owners, Richard and Mary, were very friendly, relaxed and helpful. Thanks for everything!

A nice family getaway, refreshed!

  • 5 of 5

My husband, our 9yr old son and our chocolate lab enjoyed our peaceful 3-night stay at Grandpa's Cabin in Kiel, WI. The cottage is quaint-it was just right for our family of four for a few nights. It's a very cute, clean place. We had all we needed right in the cottage and justctook a quick drive to the local Piggly Wiggly for groceries. The hosts Richard & Mary Glomski are very kind, hard working people. It was a beautiful way to begin each day looking out of the sliding patio door at the lake. Our dog loved all of the chipmunks! Kayaking and paddle boating was great! Our son enjoyed playing in the sandy area. We did much of our swimming at Koehler Andrea State park in Lake Michigan which was a blast-it was windy so the waves hitting the sandy beach were incredible. We found some very unique rocks along the shore. We also stopped at Hennings Cheese Museum & store early in the morning to watch the cheese making process and enjoy some samples. Our favs were cheese curds, mozzarella whips and blueberry cheese. A very relaxing trip indeed. Just what this family of four needed!! :)

Loved our stay!

  • 5 of 5

I stayed with my 15 year old and her two friends, and our two pups! The location was easy to find, the land and lake views were beautiful. The property owners were attentive and friendly, and gave us plenty of privacy and space to enjoy our two night/two day stay. Grandpa's Place had everything we needed to be comfortable. The water trampoline, kayaks, and paddle boat were a huge hit. We finished our last night with a bonfire and sunset. We would definitely return, thanks for everything! :)
