In overall hotel is good
I only had a bad experience with the check in time took 2 hours after checking time to get the room. Also the food was good but one on our party member can't eat pork and all the spoons were mix everywhere so couldn't even try other meats. But entertainment was great employees very friendly and rooms very clean

Not coming back
Iberostar Punta Cana didn't meet our expectations. We arrived in the hotel and gave us twin bed instead of king size. Then we finally got the right room, the bath tub has hairs on it. The toilet seat was too old and dirty. There were half emptied two opened water bottle in the mini bar. When settled in and put away our stuff, we decided to go to the swimming pool and relax for a bit before dinner. But, the rude towel boy wouldn't give us towels because he said it's already 5PM and the pool closes at 6! We explained to him that we just checked in an hour ago and we would like to relax and swim for a few minutes. The buffet food was terrible because the food there were either burnt or half cooked. The snack bar was decent. Our waitress Julia was the only person nice to us and very friendly. Half of the hotel staff wouldn't even say hi or look you in the eye. Booking for the restaurant a la carte was like pulling teeth from the Guest service. They tried to sell you things like make you go to a time share like tours so they can earn points. If you chosed not to take their offers, they feel like they're being insulted. It shouldnt be that hard to make a restaurant reservation. I thought you can just stop by or call ahead to make a reservation. Fiesta Americana in Cancun, Mexico was way better than Iberostar, Punta Cana. We chosed to go there because we would like to experience other places. But, I guess "the grass isn't always greener on the other side"

Flavorless, bland mediocre food. poor service.
The food sucked, from the craptacular breakfast buffet, to the restaurants serving dinner. The food was never a highlight of our day... we ate because we were hungry not because the food looked appealing or tasted good. The cocktails were prepared with low quality rum and other liquors. The resort was at best a 2.5 to 3 star , definately not a 5 star hotel.
Not enough pool/beach chairs to go around.
The beach was nice. The weather was nice. A few of the employees were very nice... the overwhelming majority were rude and not happy to be there. Thumbs down. Iberostar, u let me down.

Nice hotel, close to the beach and restaurants
this is our 13th trip to DR. We were staying in different hotels but this one so far is the best we ever stayed in DR. Loved everything, very close to the beach, all restaurants, lobby, very convenient and not too far walking distance. I was so amazed how clean this resort is. Starting all the public restrooms, beach, restaurants, buildings and sleeping rooms. The staff is so friendly and helpful. At the buffet restaurants staff is paying attention to the people preferences. If you like tea or coffee, water or vine. We felt so pampered at this resort. Fernando and Marsiela, went above a beyond to serve everybody (from buffet restaurant). Food was incredible and fresh everyday. Big variety for everyone taste. I will strongly recommend this resort. For the first couple of days we could not believe what a great hotel we were staying at, we were afraid we would jinx it if we will talk about it. From the beginning, from check in into hotel we loved the staff, they are the BEST!!
