Columbia Ranch is 40 acre playground including a fully furnished vacation home built in 2006. It's location enjoys great access to Lake Roosevelt, Two Rivers, Banks Lake, Grand Coulee Dam, and the Fruitland Valley. It's also a reasonable commute to Spokane, Gonzaga, EWU, and Whitworth. There is something for everybody anytime of the year. With a family oriented feel, we offer all the ammennities you'd expect and more. The home will comfortably sleep up to 9 guests, but can easily accommodate up to 12 (if the pull-out twin bed combo sofa and blow-ups are acceptable). Open concept on the main floor includes a full kitchen, family room, dining area, and large island bar for those that love to cook. Also, a huge stone woodburning fireplace and big flat screen tv can be enjoyed from anywhere on the main floor. Main flow locates two private bedrooms and the laundry room. Upstairs has a large loft, which can be closed off for privacy, and includes 4 bunk beds and one single bed, along with the upstairs 1/2 bath. Use the dimmers on every light switch to set the mood. You will appreciate hand-scraped hardwoods throughout and the solid hardwood cabinets, doors, and countertops which give this 'cabin' a cozy but lvery uxurious feel. For larger groups, we have a fully furnished farm house on property as well- call for details regarding farm house booking.
Our Family resides in Tacoma, WA but frequent Eastern Washington. We love boating on the lake in the summer and chasing around the animals in the fall and winter.
Tyler Gillis purchased this house in 2006
Our family really digs the outdoors and we wanted to be on Lk Roosevelt ever since we saw it for the first time in 2002; it IS the hidden jewel of Eastern Washington. We chose this 40 acre property to build, because it is close to town, 1,000 of miles of state land, and Two Rivers. It has unbelievable views of Lake Roosevelt to the West, Sherman Pass to the North, the Huckleberry Mountains to the East, and the Hunters countryside to the South. The deck off the main floor has 180 degrees views that will blow you away. You will find something new to be amazed with every time you look. At night you will see stars and more stars.... It's gotta be seen to believe.
IN THE SPRING AND SUMMER: Bring your ATV's, your boat, and some seadoos. If you like to watch or photograph wildlife, maybe go for a hike; after that you may not want to leave the property at all. But if you do want to hit the water - The Hunters, Wa boat launch is 5 minutes down the road. You can chose any number of sandy beaches to call your own for the day. Attention Golfers! Pack your clubs because Chewelah CC is really good and really tough. It is 45 min away from the cabin, but only minutes away from Colville (the 'big city'). IN THE FALL AND WINTER: Bring your ATV's, cross-country skis, and snowmobiles. You will enjoy the property and 'cabin' in a different way. This is our favorite time to be there. The animals are active so go for a walk and try cover all 40 acres. Typically the weather is great; cool and clear most of the time. Get the indoor, and outdoor, fire roaring as you watch the sun set before taking in your favorite movie. Prepare a feast to eat for dinner, you'll be hungry after all the fresh air.
**BEWARE!!!**After staying at owners cabin with my family in June of 2015, that would be over 1 year ago, we have still have not received our damage deposit! The owner told us everything looked great, and our damage deposit would be returned. After waiting for several weeks it had not been returned. My husband contacted the owner and he said he would check into what happened. We never heard from the him again. I have sent several emails and no response. We have used VRBO several times and have always been very happy with owners timely response post rental time and have always had our damage deposit returned to us. Please think twice before renting this property!!!
You can certainly observe the property owners have the gift of Hospitality and take care of their property and home. They went IMO, the extra mile to be certain we had everything we needed. The communication of every step and amenity was exceptional. We had all we needed and more. The house has amazing décor, up to date appliances and lots of places to lounge, very thought out. I love it. It's a super comfortable house and great new lodge feeling layout, was great for our family to sit and play cards and board games and just spend quality time together. For those who wanted to watch movies, they weren't far away. The view draws you outside and that was also an appreciated experience with the stars and water expansive outdoor view. We felt very safe with the kids that the ranch road gate is lockable, very private estate feel. Great time and thank you for sharing your home for our family to experience!
We spent the Christmas holiday at Columbia Ranch and will recommend to everyone. What a breath of fresh air! Incredible cabin and excellent host. For example, being folks from the south, were very unfamiliar with driving in snow and only had a 2wd Suburban. Our vehicle was stuck in the driveway, and Ty made some calls to some wonderful local people who helped immediately. Very peaceful four days. Off the beaten path...prepare to relax, relax, relax! Thanks Ty and family for the best gift of experience yet! The Shepards
Note that there is no internet and there is also only rarely any kind of cell service, which made communication with the family as they came & went complicated. We are all so used to downloading directions & clean up procedures, but couldn't do either. Hope we remembered what the clean up stuff okay!
What a beautifully secluded cabin in the woods! We stayed during the fires/smoke so could only enjoy the view one night but it was spectacular. The cabin was thoughtfully designed, clean and much nicer than what you'd expect to find in this remote area of E. WA. We brought our boat and enjoyed the lake - fished, skied and explored. We found friendly and helpful people everywhere. Thanks for sharing your home. :)
Views were amazing. The Feeling of being secluded in the woods was awesome . Great layout for sleeping areas . Only issues were it was listed to have AC( it was a window unit that could not keep up with the outside temp of upper 90's) made for hot nights . No WiFi which was listed but AT&T also had no 3G or 4G. Still had a great time and would go back . It's a perfect getaway.
Columbia Ranch is 40 minutes South of Kettle Falls/Colville. It is 90 minutes NW of Spokane. Both are relaxing drives if you are looking for a shopping/antiqueing trip. Gonzaga, EWU, Whitworth, all near. It is very close to Hunters, WA and Two Rivers (the main hub for all things Lk Roosevelt). Columbia Ranch's central location is a huge benefit to enjoying your trip!
