Things to do Apt Luberon : Musee Archeologique The town's major museum contains Roman objects found in local excavations, including pieces of mosaics, sarcophagi, coins, and even oil lamps from the 2nd century B.C. It also displays sacred and decorative art by faïence makers from the 17th and the 19th centuries.Cathédrale Ste-AnneThis major monument is known for its ancient two-level crypt. According to legend, the bones of the legendary Ste-Anne, mother of the Virgin Mary, were miraculously discovered in this crypt in the 8th century, occasioning the building of the cathedral. Her life is depicted in a beautiful set of 14th-century stained-glass windows at the end of the apse.

The little village of Caseneuve is barely a dot on the map, but that just makes its discovery all the more wonderful. It sits on an isolated hilltop east of Apt, halfway between the Luberon to the south and the Plateau de Vaucluse to the north, giving it an excellent view of the surrounding countryside.

Hot week great pool and views

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay in this gite. The family next door, the owners, were very friendly and helpful. The swimming pool was wonderful with spectacular views over the valley and hills. We enjoyed our walks with our dogs up past lavender fields and vineyards. The gite is small but comfortable and suited us and our two dogs well. Apt is about ten mins drive away with a great market on Saturday mornings. Bershka recommended this to us.

Happy times in the Luberon

  • 5 of 5

We had an excellent fortnight, and as we weren't sure whether it was going to be the whole family or just the two of us, this was an ideal place to book, as it catered either way and at no extra cost.

In true Peter Mayle fashion, the builders hadn't quite completed the necessary, but the hospitaliity of Bershka and her amiable family, certainly made up for any missing items.

An invitation to joint the 'Summer Family Get-together' was a highlight and everyone made us feel very welcome.

We will make sure we have brushed up on our french before our next visit (not that it was a necessity, but would have made us feel more capable of a contributing more to the conversation).

Arriving during the time of the lavendar harvest was quite breathtaking - literally. Thank you for a very pleasant holiday.

A Beautiful Break

  • 5 of 5

We had the most lovely time at Les Ramades! The apartment is very comfortable with all amenities. The location is great as you are in a secluded area but are close enough to Apt where you find everything you need. The owners are so lovely and were very helpful in giving advice on places to visit and things to do. We really felt so welcome and will definately be back in the near future!

Very nice area and true hospitality

  • 4 of 5

We had a very nice stay and "Les Ramades". It was true value for money. Because it was their first season not everything was really ready. For example the washing machine was not placed yet, but they offered a solution by washing our clothes. And every uncomfort or question was followed-up quickly and was no problem. Excellent ! Also the family was nice and even invited our kids to join them on a trip to Apt. We also enjoyed the area they located with the markets, views and historical buildings nearby. If you like true value for money, this area and want experience the authentic South France we recommend staying here.

Welcome to the heart of of the Luberon. The little village of Caseneuve is barely a dot on the map, but that just makes its discovery all the more wonderful. Caseneuve is small and obviously ancient. It sits on an isolated hilltop east of Apt, halfway between the Luberon to the south and the Plateau de Vaucluse to the north, giving it an excellent view of the surrounding countryside. The area around the village is peaceful and pastoral, with fields, farms, tractors and sheep, all in rolling hills with a lot of woods. It's a great place for long country walks. Les Ramades located outside of the village of Caseneuve next to Apt is a two level self contained and well equipeded provencal studio appartment located in the area of Caseneuve.Les Ramades is in the Park Natural Regional de Luberon. Therefore it is situated in a natural park and there has been no building policy for over 40 years.

Other Activities: Les Ramades is in the Park Natural Regional de Luberon. Therefore it is situated in a natural park and there has been no building policy for over 40 y

There is natural beauty traditional villages hiking tracks bicycling racks horse riding and is seen to be one of the most exclusive places to visit. Included in the reasons most people want live in the Luberon include the beautiful food wine and weather . The people come from a history of Roman heritage.
