Our family first visited Pelee Island in April 2012 and we all instantly fell in love with it. It has become a perfect get away for our family, especially our 3 years old daughter. Six months after our first trip to Pelee Island, we decided to share our memories with nature lovers by welcoming them to this beautiful upscale cottage and help them to enjoy the peace, tranquility, and magic of Pelee Island.
The Owner purchased this cottage in 2012
Built in 2006, this unique property is in an excellent location, which contains large area of fine sand swim beach in Pelee Island. It is a waterfront property with lake view from all the rooms.
All the amenities of a modern house with very fine sand swim beach that is only few feet away from the very sallow lake.
The place is well located , the cottage could have been nice but it was not clean at all. Kitchen was dirty ... I had to clean the cabinets, same for fridge and oven. Bathrooms was full of hairs and dirty. Linen was stained. Lots of spiders in the cottage and lot if horseflies outside.
Beach is beautiful, White sand, clear water, no algae, hot water. Wild Turkeys were seen everyday around the house.
Its à Nice place but the house cleaning needs to be improve.
The property is amazing and the house was very nicely decorated with an awesome cottage feel. If I were to complain of anything, I wished the water was not hard water and there was air conditioning throughout the house. Having only window units in each of the rooms makes it a bit uncomfortable throughout the house during hot humid days because the kitchen is right in the main floor - but Terry, the property manager, makes up for that with his great response and amazing friendly service! Would definitely be booking again for our next family reunion! Thank you for sharing your awesome home with us.
This is an excellent cottage to get away and relax from all of the crazy day to day hustle and bustle.
Relax by the fire and listen to the waves after a day of exploring the island.
Property management communicated well and was prompt to meeting us there with the keys as we arrived late.
The cottage is clean and well maintained, would recommend to anyone looking for a place to stay on Pelee Island.
My group of seven adults stayed in this cottage during the Pelee Island Half Marathon weekend. This was our second year staying here for this event and we would definitely recommend it. Everything was exactly as shown in the listing. It's a fairly long bike ride from the dock but we managed it with no trouble. The location right on the beach was very nice.
Very nice cottage in great location right on the lakefront. As advertised upstairs bedrooms have great view of lake as does the main floor and outside deck.
The water was shallow and the cleanest I have ever seen on Lake Erie. The owner might want to consider pulling back the accumulation of mussel shells at the beach edge as little kids might have a tough time walking on them.
The area has been left fairly natural thus birds and vegetation are incredible in quantity. Some people may be put off by the biting flies and water snakes but thats nature for you.
The review would be five star but the cottage inside and out needs a serious "spring cleaning". I realize this is a lakeside property near a mature forest but the amount of dirt, cobwebs, and seed pods on the deck and windows is excessive. Considering the emphasis in the property manual on move out cleaning we were surprised by the accumulation of dust, cobwebs, sand on the floors and even tissues and plastics under the beds.
A broom and a hose could make this a five star rating.
Had our annual family vacation again here, and really enjoyed the cottage! This was my 30th annual vacation to Pelee, and my wife's family has been going there for over 50 years. Love the island, and this cottage is the best we have stayed in by far. Returning again here in 2016 and hopefully for many more years to come. The folks that own the cottage keep it in great shape, and it is well appointed and always clean, and they are very accommodating!
The Township of Pelee is made up of nine islands in Lake Erie and is the most southern point in Canada. Pelee Island is the largest of the islands and is situated at the Canada/USA boundary between Sandusky, Ohio and Windsor/Essex County, Ontario.
Pelee is a serenely beautiful area with miles of lovely beaches, natural areas that are unsurpassed, and the fishing is superb. When you visit Pelee you will be limited only by your imagination.
