Somset Condominium won the 2011 Marco Bloom Award.

Located at the South end beach area of Marco Island, this beachfront unit has a breathtaking panoramic view of the Gulf. On the 7th floor both the master bedroom and living room have direct access to the large, covered balcony, a perfect area for watching the gorgeous sunset every night. Leave your large patio doors open and listen to the waves hit the beach all night long.

This unit features two bedrooms. Master bedroom has a king bed with walk-in closet and separate make-up area. Master bath has a large tub and shower with double sinks. Second bedroom has 2 twin beds with walk-in closet and is directly connected to the 2nd full bathroom (which can also be accessed from the living area) also has walk in closet. Kitchen is fully equipped with everything needed for a comfortable including one regular coffee pot or keurig. There is a breakfast table area and then a separate formal dining area with snack bar. Spacious living room with flat screen smart tv and queen size pull-out sofa bed. Has extra folding cot in guest bedroom. There is an enclosed entry way (before actually entering the unit) This has all your beach needs, beach chairs, umbrella, cooler. Washer and dryer included inside the unit. All linens, pillows, blankets bath towels and beach towels are provided.

The Somerset Condo complex is beautiful with its landscaped tropical gardens, two heated salt pools with grilling areas, two tennis courts, pickle ball court, beautiful fully equipped exercise room, covered parking and a beautiful beach just steps away! Bars, restaurants, shopping and movie theater, mini golf, are within a short walking distance.

Marco Island is the largest of South West Florida's 10,000 islands and is located on the Gulf of Mexico. The island is six miles long, four miles wide and connected to the mainland by two bridges.

We own and manage our property, we also permanently live on the island. We enjoy meeting our guests and handing over the keys and answering any questions you might have. If something is needed we are right there to assist you. We accept weekly or monthly rentals only.

Vic & Pat are originally from the UP of Michigan. You can understand why we decided to move south. We still love going back to the UP during the summer, as it is so beautiful. You won't catch us there in the winter.

Almost Paradise

We were anxious to stay on Marco Island for a second year in a row.

When we were shown the unit, my first impression was that the furnishings were very dated. It's a spacious place, though, and we appreciated the ceiling fans.

The grounds are beautiful and mostly well-maintained. The location of Somerset is convenient to restaurants and shopping, and we spent many hours walking the beach. The views of the sunsets were anywhere from softly subtle to long-lasting and strikingly beautiful.

Several drawbacks: neighbors smoking cigarettes and cigars, talked very loudly. The people above us had parties and a number of guests who were very loud. One big draw for us regarding Marco (at least last year) was how quiet it is/was.

Several buildings north of us sits a Marriott and most nights they had very loud music - just awful, awful..

Probably our favorite activities were visiting Goodland and Everglades City - really "old Florida."

We appreciated how responsive Pat and Vic were to a couple of concerns we had. Nice people.

Owner's Response: Thank you so much for the review. I wish more people would do this as it is helpful to us and to prospective renters. Yes, the couple of issues were a night light burnt out and the cleaning people took the beach towels to finish drying them. Seeing as we live right here on the island we took care of those issues immediately. Everybody has a different take concerning the music from the Marriott. Some enjoy sitting out on the balcony at night drinking their own wine and enjoying the wonderful sounds of live music. To each their own in that respect.

Spectacular View!

Our stay was wonderful from the time we met with Vic and Pat at check in until we checked out a week later. The condo is very nice, spacious, light and airy and of course there is the view which is breathtaking. There are beach chairs, umbrellas, and toys for your use. What is a real plus is when you enter the condo there is an outside room where all the beach equipment is kept so you do not bring sand and all the beach equipment into the condo itself. The owners are very nice and so easy to work with. We will definitely be coming back here!

Nice place. Would stay again

The owners are very nice people. Friendly and accommodating (property folks are a little ridgid and the guy at the gate on our arrival was a little militaristic but he warmed up after a few days). Property very nice clean and all was in good working order. Beach was fabulous and we had a great time. There is so much to do in the area and we tried to take it all in. There were literally a couple dozen dolphins hanging around for a couple days and we had a lot of fun watching them. In all we had a terrific vacation can't wait to come back next year

There is much to explore on Marco Island and the surrounding area. Within walking distance of the Mariott and Hilton hotels where you'll find all the fun beach activities such as parasailing, waverunner rental, paddle boarding, windsurfing, beach volleyball and much more. Great restaurants include Marek's, Arturos and the Blue Heron. There are MANY casual restaurants great for the whole family such as Stilts, Nacho Mamas, Snook Inn, CJ's on the Bay, Mango Cafe, DaVinci's and so many more! Great breakfast places are Hoots, Red Rooster and Breakfast Plus. Nearby on the island are bike rentals, boat rentals, fishing charters, Key West Express, Briggs Nature Center, Dinner boat cruises, dolphin and manatee excursions, Mackle Park and much more. Nearby towns are Goodland and Everglade City, the city of Naples is a quick 20 minute drive.
