Artists living and working in Landers. My partner and I built our house in 2007. We moved here from New York state after living there for over 25 years. Tired of the brutal winters & high humidity in summer, we find the High-Desert a welcome change.
phillip maberry purchased this house in 2007
As the sign states when you enter Landers ' Land of Endless Vistas '. that's what brought us here.
On average , there are 283 sunny days per year , the brightest full moon, the darkest night sky and the most stars you will ever see .
Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful home ! We enjoyed our stay here in the desert with various hikes and trips to Joshua Tree park . Our evenings were filled with cooking in your perfectly equipped kitchen, the fresh herbs from the garden, the incredible views , the silence and peaceful location. Take care ! Flawless experience from start to finish. Felt honored to get to be in this fabulous, creative space amid the dessert. 360 degree sunset views. Hope to stay again. Thank you!
So first of all, we wanted a place where we could forget about everything for a few days. And this was perfect. The house was extremely clean and very well kept. The artwork is terrific, everywhere you looked there was something interesting and fun. Phillip gave us great directions, unfortunately we were not able to meet him, but he was in touch with us to make sure we got there ok. We would positively recommend this
house to our friends, but we kinda like to keep it a secret too! We did not venture out, we just chilled, and went in the pool, bbq, cocktails, it was perfect!!
So we will be back, our little dog loved it too, the property is all enclosed, so we did not have to worry about her getting out, or anything getting in.
All in all, wonderful place, a lot of thought went into this house. Very positive, happy vibe there. This beats a hotel any time!!
The house was absolutely amazing! So many interesting details to take in and great accommodations for a very comfortable stay. Though there was plenty of interesting sights nearby I found myself drawn to the house and the relaxing environment encompassed. I would highly recommend staying here to anyone looking to enjoy the High Desert and plan to be back soon myself.
There is not much to do around this home and that is exactly what I was looking for. Gorgeous views of the desert, good energy, quiet, mod and comfy home to relax. In fact, you are forced to do nothing but relax at this place...quite a change for those of us with a busy life. I stayed with my husband and 2-year old son. During the day we drove to Joshua Tree to hike and relaxed in the late afternoon and evening. Perfect weekend. Thank you!
Phillip made us feel right at home and was very communicative from the get-go. My wife is from Europe and needless to stay her tastes are extremely particular........she and my daughters were blown away by this modern home in the desert with incredible views and tasteful (and artful) decor. Even though the property is in a remote area, it is close to great cuisine at La Copine just down the road, not to mention convenient grocery stores in Yucca Valley. Each night we watched movies on the big screen which was an extra bonus.
If you're looking for a quiet and modern place to clear your head and to get away from the chaos which is the majority of California, don't hesitate to book this property! The views of the desert expanses and night skies are priceless.
WE TRULY ENJOYED STAYING AT THIS PROPERTY, SUPER RELAXING RETREAT. THERE'S INCREDIBLE VIEWS OUT EVERY WINDOW AND LOTS OF PRIVACY! I LOVED THE FIREBALL (FIREPIT). I WOULD DEFINITELY STAY HERE AGAIN!!!
