About Scott A. Meier

We have lived in this grand Milwaukee neighborhood for over twenty years and am so proud to call it my home. We have restored many unique architectural gems in Washington Heights. We have published stories and pictures in the Milwaukee Journal, Bungalow Magazine, and the local neighborhood newspaper, The Washington Highlighter.

Scott A. Meier purchased this apartment in 2012

Why Scott A. Meier chose Milwaukee

Over twenty years ago, we initially purchased the sister duplex next door and made

it our home for many years. When the sister duplex became available... it was a dream come true. The two properties where originally constructed for two sisters, at the turn of the century, when the neighborhood was first developed from pasture land.

Our neighborhood today advertises itself as, "In the City, Out of the Ordinary.

What makes this apartment unique

Please check out the Washington Heights Neighborhood Association in Milwaukee, Wisconsin website to get further neighborhood insight. You can read about special activities we have throughout the year, as well as, informative neighbor stories and happenings published in the Highlighter Magazine.

Wonderful Home on the Boulevard!

  • 5 of 5

This is my first time using HomeAway, and this rental is absolutely wonderful! So much room and comfort. The Kitchen is impressively equiped with everything you could possibly want, including condiments in the fridge, and fabulous ground coffee in the freezer. Only 10 minutes, at the most, to downtown. Convenient to the Brewer's ball park. Friendly, safe, quiet neighboorhood. Nearby Wauwatosa provides many options with grocery stores, wonderful restaurants, and nice independent shops (loved the independent bookstore Little Read Book, Inc.). Several parks are close as well. Our stay was so pleasant, we want to return to Milwaukee and rent this place again!

Great house is the perfect location to get to events downtown

  • 5 of 5

We rented the Residence for a week because we were in town for an athletic event downtown. Travel between The Residence and downtown, Miller Park, the zoo, Mayfair Mall, etc was exceptionally easy using city streets. Access to the interstate was just a few blocks away if you want to travel further afield. The Residence itself was great and very well stocked. Everything we needed (and more) was available in the kitchen. The bedrooms were very comfortable. The added bonus of having a washer and dryer after being on the road for a week and a half was great! Overall, I would highly recommend this property and we would definitely stay there again.

Make for a great stay. Very close to everything

Beautiful home in great location

  • 5 of 5

Home is charming with lots of beautiful antiques and character. Great architecture. Scott and Mark were very responsive to any questions or needs that we had. Very quiet neighborhood and easy location to downtown Riverfront as well as easy access to highways. We had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend this place.

Climate Issues

  • 3 of 5

Overall, the furnishings are adequate; dining, kitchen and living room very comfortable. The bed linens and pillows on the beds were cheap and uncomfortable in the back room.

Apparently, the owner was out of town when we arrived. The temperature in the unit was 81 degrees, due to warm weather the previous day. Nobody bothered to open the place to air it out or install the window A/C's. I called the backup person, who tried to be helpful, but could not resolve cooling and heating issues during our time there. He sent over a service person to help, but the problems only became worse. The temperature plummeted 30 degrees and there was no way to turn on the heat, so we were all cold the first 2 nights. By the way, the thermostat is useless and needs to be replaced. It is old and not intuitive.

In short, the place is neat and clean appointed with common area comfort, but it was not prepared properly for our visit and cooling/heating issues were problematic during our entire stay. I never received an apology or compensation from the owner for our inconvenience; not that I asked either.

Nice place for family time

  • 5 of 5

The home is well maintained and the kitchen is well stocked. The neighborhood is also very nice. We were visiting our son who's attending college in Milwaukee and were able to have some nice family meals at the house.
