Description

Photos and Description of this 3 bedroom holiday home in Gmina Stare Juchy - The Lake House Sajzy

Beautiful comfy and cozy lakeside cottage in the village of Sajzy near Elk.

Charming, all year round lakeside cottage in the village of Sajzy near Elk, North East Poland.

This lovely wooden house is a perfect base to explore the stunning region of Masuria, or if you just want to relax and light the BBQ and enjoy the peace and tranquilty it's also excellent.

There are games and toys for the kids and you can light the wood burning stove on any chilly days, but the house has radiators too.

The large private garden has a sandpit, BBQ, fire pit and picnic table.

The lake is right on your doorstep for refreshing swims or why not take the boat available for free and really explore.

The house sleeps 6 adults in beds that can be doubles or twins on request, there is also a camp bed which is downstairs, as well as a cot, the stairs have stairgates at the top and bottom, so the house is ideal for those with families.

Getting Here:: Both Warsaw and Kaunas are served by low-cost airlines as is the local airport of Szymany near Olsztyn only 1 hour 40 minutes away.

There is a direct minibus link from Warsaw Okecie Airport and Warsaw Modlin to Elk 3 times a day and cars can be rented in Elk too.

Warsaw to Elk is a 3 to 4 hour drive depending on which airport and traffic. In 2017 this is going be improved by the completion of the Via Baltica motorway.

Why Sarah Wiechec-Bird chose Poland

My husband and I fell in love with the village of Sajzy the moment we cycled through it and decided to build our little wooden house there. It took 3 years altogether to finish it and we hope you love the results. A house that fits in with it's surroundings and a place to relax and enjoy the forest and the lake.

Guestbook comments from the owner

It's wonderful that in Poland there is such a marvelous place as Sajzy.

The house welcomed us with cascading flowers while inside everything was cosy, practical, and very clean, we were able to take a break from the pace of this world.

Throughly relaxed and revived we return ( reluctantly ) to Warsaw.

With heartfelt thanks.

Great getaway! Didn't want to leave...

  • 5 of 5

I can't tell you how great this property is for families with young children!! (And those without) We spent an amazing week here and highly suggest it to others. Enclosed yard, baby stair gates, toys, a sandbox...my kids wanted to stay forever! The fire pit and bbq were great for cooking up dinner, and we loved laying outside on those comfy lounge chairs watching for shooting stars. Nice big fridge, comfortable beds, music in the shower... and a boat! My daughter enjoyed her daily fishing trip with daddy (thanks for also providing a kids life vest). Visited Wolf's Lair (about 1 hour by car) as well. I also want to mention that we had one issue while staying here and the owners were very quick to respond and resolve. Thanks again for making this so easy to just come and enjoy!

Super Haus, super Lage, sehr nette Vermieter.

  • 4 of 5

Gemütliches, tolles Ferienhaus in wunderschöner Lage

  • 5 of 5

  • 5 of 5

Empfehlenswert

  • 4 of 5

Wir würden also wiederkommen.

Empfehlenswertes Haus am See

  • 5 of 5

The Masurian region is known as the land of a 1000 lakes, close to the Lithuanian border the house is an ideal base to explore a few of them! Lasmiady lake is huge and very clean, ideal for kayaking and swimming. The forest is just a short walk away where you can pick wild mushrooms, strawberries or blueberries or just enjoy the peace and tranquillity and try and spot a deer or moose.

If it's history you like Mazury has plenty, from Hitler's bunkers to pyramids, old castles, churches, monasteries, palaces we can help out with off the beaten track treasures.

Fishing: The record pike caught with a fishing rod in Poland weighed over 24 kg, and the biggest carp was 3kg heavier. Pike, pike-perch, catfish and eels are abundant in the lakes and rivers. All fishermen have to have a license which can be purchased easily in Elk, and boats and other watersports equipment can be rented in Sajzy just 250m from the house.

Golf: There is a golf course about 15km in Talki.
