About Jean Mackay
We are a family with adult children, and grandchildren. This property has been in the family for over 40 years. Over the years we have added, new showers, new double glazed windows .We have became the proud owners of our own hydroscheme, which provides green electriciy using the water that comes down the hillside, you can even see , from the meter, when the system is providing electricity !
Why Jean Mackay chose Killin
We all love the peace and tranquility, with plenty to do, be it sailing, fishing walking and hiking or just reading a book. A great place for all the generations to be together or separate. Plenty of room for us all to do our own 'thing' with a 40 ft sitting room with wonderful views and a large dining table to sit with family and friends and talk about our day and future plans.

An idyllic loch- side get away.
Quick and easy to book. Amazing, unbeatable location. Surrounded by nature. Lovely villages nearby. Very friendly locals. The house had plenty of space and had everything we needed. The setting was a wildlife lovers paradise.
Most beautiful setting anywhere.
Relaxing, surrounded by beauty and nature. Easy access to further activities and outings if you could bring yourselves to leave. If your looking for modern “bling” interiors it’s not for you. The house is beautifully clean, spacious and a very relaxing place to spend time in. Thankyou
Thank you, an excellent description.
One of the most amazing locations you would have ever been.
For all the reasons you have to visit this part of Scotland then this property will certainly not disappoint. Firstly it’s clean and spacious, the living/dining room is huge and was more and adequate for our five children and the dog. The outside space is vast and we spent hours playing some of the most serious games of hide and seek that Scotland has ever seen. Loch Tay surrounds the property and there are some secluded private beaches on the property’s land to sit and enjoy the views or for the more adventurous, to take a swim in the water. We could have easily spent the week without leaving the house and surrounding woodland gardens but when we did venture out the road around the Loch is safe for running and cycling and has some beautiful views across the water. The route up Ben Lawers is a 15 minute drive from the property and you can see the summit from the living room window. It is a perfect route for inexperienced walkers and young children with spectacular views throughout. The property owners are extremely welcoming and very informative about the local area. It was so lovely to arrive to fresh flowers in the hall and coffee and wine in the kitchen. We’re already planning our next visit.
Fantastic views, has everything you need, couldn't ask for a better place, can't wait to go back. Come rain or shine we were never without a smile x
Delighted that you enjoyed your holiday again, to the peace and tranquillity of our shoreside home,
Fiddlers Bay is set on the south side of Loch Tay, 4 miles form the village of Killin, looking north towards Ben Lawers, where there is wonderful walking, an Eco centre, drives through the hills to Glen Lyon The land around the house is a Site of Special Scientific interest with many birds, squirrels and rare plant species.
There are golf courses at Killin and Taymouth Castle. The Crannog Centre, Castle Menzies, Pitlochry theatre, and a whisky distillery at Aberfeldy are all within easy reach. Killin has the famous Falls of Dochart, shops, restaurants, play areas and churches. Boats for fishing or canoeing are available for hire. If you wish to bring your own small boat you can launch directly from our beach. Walking, gentle or more strenuous hill walking from the house. Fly fish for trout from the garden headland. Excellent dining at the Ardeonaig Hotel, pub lunches in Killin or Kenmore. Book and art shops in Aberfeldy. River rafting available at Grantully.
The garden around the house, is wooded, with a large gravelled area for parking and playing alongside the house. A patio runs from the sitting room onto a small headland above the water, ideal for an afternoon relaxing, eating or a drink with friends and family.
There is a small slipway where small boats and canoes can be launched onto Loch Tay into the small bay at the front of the house.
The very secluded and peaceful area that the house is situated in make it a delight to relax and enjoy a holiday, with the bonus of having lots of space for children , of all ages, to have something to 'do'
Stirling with its castle, Fort William, Oban are all within an easy drive should you wish to explore.
A lovely 'get away from it all ' house to holiday in, for a romantic break or a fun time with friends and family.
