About Sam Rosa
I purchased this 3 apartment property from the builder in built in 1996. I have lived there through 2015. Born and raised in Chicago, I consider myself a foodie and absolutely love this location. This has been a thriving area in recent years with all sorts of new restaurants and was fortunate to only be a block away from the famous Hot Doug's, eating there for years before Doug retired. Born and raised in Chicago, this has been a very convenient location for taking the bus over to Wrigley Field, jumping on the Kennedy to drive out somewhere, or hopping on the Blue Line train to head into downtown.

What makes this Apartment unique
I love this property...I bought it essentially new and I know every inch about it. I performed all the remodeling myself for this unit and purchased all the furnishings new (a very long receipt and truckload from Ikea). I originally reserved this unit for myself and family for long weekends in the now considering letting others enjoy it, and am confident that you will too.

We were surprised and disappointed that this unit was below street level which was not mentioned in the listing nor the reviews. Harsh ceiling lighting in all rooms with only one small lamp in the living room, and the queen bedroom was stark and uninviting. I asked if there were basics like salt in the kitchen and was told yes but no salt. Also floors were not very clean—something sticky next to queen bed and when I wiped water off kitchen floor just after arriving the paper towel came up light grey. Living room furniture not very comfortable.
Great property near dining and shopping
The property was clean and quiet. An ideal spot to base from for exploring the city. The owner was responsive and provided great communication. Would stay here again.
For us Location, Location, Location!
We went into Chicago for our grandson's birthday. This condo was walking distance for us to go spend time with our family. Condo is adequately furnished and the owner was awesome. He communicated well and responded quickly. We will definitely stay here again and look forward to it.
Amazing Avondale Apt
Best parking in Chicago--never hard to find a space in front of the apartment! That never happens in Chicago! Sam's place is wonderful, exceptionally clean, new appliances, everything you'll need for your stay. And, Sam is extremely attentive; he responded immediately to our questions. Don't hesitate to book this place!
Highly recommend this rental. The unit was exactly as pictured and described. Unit was clean and comfortable. We were a family of 6 adults, in Chicago for the marathon so we did not spend a lot of time in the unit. It might be a bit small for 6 adults if you are planning on spending a lot of time in it, as there is limited seating (a couch, 1 easy chair and a desk chair in living room, and 4 chairs in kitchen). For our needs, a place to sleep and relax at the end of the day, it was perfect. Public transportation was easily accessible. We purchased a 3 day passed which could be used for the bus and train. The blue line is within walking distance but we chose to take the bus, (stop less than a block away) to get to the train station. The blue line gets you to O'Hare and downtown without transfer. The neighborhood appears to be up and coming, clean and relatively quiet. Many restaurants within walking distance and a grocery store and additional shopping not far away. Parking was always available. We all felt very comfortable walking around even after dark. Neighborhood is relatively quite, typical city noise. The only down side was there were only 4 place settings and coffee cups. I mentioned this to Sam who stated he would get more. Since only some of us ate a meal other than coffee and bagels for breakfast, and 2 in our party do not drink coffee, it was not a problem. If I am ever in Chicago again I would certainly rent this unit again.
Nice Rental with Reasonable Price
We were surprised at the convenient location close to where our daughter lives in the Roscoe Village area. The pricing was reasonable and the unit met all of our needs. We had several technical issues with the door locks and internet, but Sam was able to resolve the issues in a short time. Parking was available on the street outside of the unit. We were right across the street from a city park, but always found a parking spot.
We will definitely consider this location on our next visit to Chicago.
Location, location, location, is great and directly across Brands Park…how about a picnic, basketball, tennis, baseball, and kids playground. Ideal for foodies, with several Chicago A listers within walking distance (no more than 2 blocks away) that include: Kumas Corner (best burger in Chicago period…a Triple D Joint…literally around the corner); Parachute (Korean American fusion); Pork Shoppe (real deal smoked BBQ); Honey Butter Fried Chicken (you’ve never had chicken this good); Chief O’Neill’s (Guinness Meatloaf soooo gooood); Cafe Tola (Empanadasssss). For microbrew lovers, there’s Beer Temple to stock the fridge…they have the hard to find brews. Get to downtown quickly with the CTA Blue Line train (Belmont Stop), or drive anywhere with easy access to the Kennedy. It’s also only 2 miles west of Wrigley Field…home of the World Series Champion Chicago Cubs.
