Lovely characterful property in fab location.

  • 5 of 5

Michelle the owner could not have been more helpful, we struggled to find the property at first and couldn't quite believe that we were meant to drive along the tiny streets that our sat nav told us to! After contacting Michelle she arranged to come and meet us, showed us round with a mini tour for the shops restaurants and parking, that saved the day. The apartment is very traditional, plenty of hot water, towels, and lovely comfy bed. The town is so pretty with a fab range of restaurants and shops. 10 minutes to the lake which was picture perfect with little villages that you can potter around, grab a coffee or lunch.

We headed here for a few days relaxing before hitting the hustle and bustle of Rome, with local knowledge and having experienced Rome we probably would of stayed here the whole week and trained it into Rome for day trips from the station at Bracciano.

Only very very small point was that there was no outside space, being able to sit outside and have a glass of wine would of been a bonus, although the property is a few minutes from the view point the locals looked at us a bit bizarrely when we sat on the bench having our coffee.

We will definitely be back. Thanks Michelle.

a place to relax and enjoy Italian village life

  • 5 of 5

We arrived via the Train from Rome and when we saw Bracciano a big smile came across our faces, as we walked through the town and got to La Scaletta we needed to pinch ourselves to believe it was real. AWESOME, great apartment and location. We have been communicating with owners for over a year and they are very helpful in answering any questions or needs.

The apartment was immaculate and had everything we needed; the washing machine was so handy.

Bracciano is wonderful and comes alive in the evenings. Everyone is so friendly and compared to the UK everything was so inexpensive.

Trains to Rome as others have stated are excellent and only 8 euros AMAZING

If you want some fun get on the train at Colosseum Station at about 16:30-17:00 you will be amazed how many people you can fit inside a train.

We both had a great time in Italy what a fantastic country and lovely people.

Thank you

I would recommend this apartment and Location 100%

Wonderful Romantic Getaway!

  • 5 of 5

The apartment was exactly as described in the listing, so no unwelcome surprises. It was nicely furnished, absolutely spotless and had everything you would need for a self catering holiday including a dishwasher and washing machine.

The owner was very helpful answering my many questions -even emailing me timetables for the bus from Campino airport. She also advised what metro and train to take to reach Bracciano. She was so lovely she even picked us up from the train station which was wonderful as we had been traveling all night.

Although Bracciano is about 45 mins on the train from Rome the trains are frequent and a day travel ticket which covers the train, metro and buses is excellent value at only 8 euros per person. We visited Rome most days and it was great to be able to return to the peace and tranquility of Bracciano. It is a very pretty town and perfect for a romantic escape. The view of the lake from just outside the apartment is beautiful. It is a nice walk down to the lake itself where there is lots of restaurants to visit.

There are a few supermarkets to get your self catering supplies and even though I don't speak Italian the man in the deli section was amazingly helpful.

Our preferred restuarant in Bracciano was Locale Samidi, the owner Massimo was great, the food excellent and the wine wonderful.

Although not a problem for us the TV did not have English speaking channels but as there is a DVD player I would suggest you take some DVDs if you want to flop after a long day sightseeing in Rome. Having said that I preferred chilling in the local restaurant with a glass of wine.

Overall we would highly recommend this property. Thanks again Ilaria.

The Best of Bracciano

  • 5 of 5

We stayed for one week in this beautiful apartment in Bracciano. You should not look any further than this apartment if you wish to stay in this lovely town with it's lake and amazing Castle. This apartment is the cleanest we have stayed in during months of travel in Italy, absolutely spotless. The owner was a pleasure to deal with and answered all enquiries and was even good enough to post some personal items to us, which we had left behind in the apartment. The apartment is steps away from the most beautiful view across the Lake. We highly recommend this apartment to anyone looking for perfection in Bracciano.

La Scaletta Bracciano

  • 4 of 5

Very well decorated and furnished holiday apartment, clean and tidy with the added benefit of dishwasher and washing machine. Lovely position just outside castle walls and a short distance from square with fantastic views overlooking the lake.

10 mins walk from rail station with frequent timetable for journey to Rome which takes between 1-11/4 hrs unless you take the 7am train which only takes 40mins.

Short walk to lakeside for good swimming but long climb back.

Apartment is only short distance to shops and restuarants and castle museum.

Castle is well worth visiting. Bracciano full of history.

Tourist office were extremely helpful.

Would recommend for wonderful holiday.

Amazing stay, and immaculate conditions!

  • 5 of 5

I just returned from a short stay at La Scaletta Holiday House with my fiance and one of our close friends. Upon arrival, we were dumb struck by the beauty of the area of La Scaletta - cobble stone streets filled with pizzeria's, cafe's, bars and shops in the historic center of Bracciano are all literally on your equally beautiful doorstep. The overlook from the historic center to the lake is maybe 10 meters from your door, and you are near to everything. Its in easy walking distance to the train station, so no need at all for a car if you plan to stay just in Bracciano. We also walked to the lake, which is about 15-20 minutes from the house. It is a steep hill, so easy going down, a workout coming back up.

In regards to the apartment, it is a beautiful, newly renovated apartment in an old medieval building. Everything is new - the kitchen is in perfect order, and fully equipped with standard kitchen supplies. We cooked each day, and really enjoyed doing so. There are also two stove-top espresso makers, and coffee, jams, sugar, salt, olive oil could all be found already in the kitchen. The apartment is immaculate, and the standards of cleanliness out-do most hotels I've stayed in. Everything smells incredibly fresh, and there is no dirt or dust in sight. The bed was comfortable, with wonderful pillows, and our friend said the pull-out queen size sofa bed was equally comfortable.

There is a TV with DVD player, which I think would have come in handy if we'd had something to watch for the day that it stormed and rained perpetually. There is also another TV in the bedroom, though We didn't use it.

A drying rack, and iron with ironing board came in very handy too when we got caught in the rain storm. The bathroom was beautiful, and immaculate, and even has a washing machine in it (we were there for such a short stay, we didn't need it).

Ilaria even provided us with an internet key so we could have internet in the apartment for 5 euro more-unlimited access.

La Scaletta Holiday House was perfect, and I'd recommend it to anyone wanting to stay in the city center of Bracciano. You won't beat the location, or the price, and certainly not the standards of amenities. I think too it would be ideal for both young families, or older travelers due to the comforts of a self-catering environment. I only wish we had been staying longer.

Thank you Ilaria for a wonderful stay.
