Very accommodating owner, great location, perfect way to integrate into Parisian life.

A friend and I met in Paris for a 7 day stay. It was our first time in Paris and the apartment was perfect for two women in our mid 30's: Clean, had every amenity you could want, close to major sites, markets, shops, dining, and the metro.

From first inquiry through the VRBO site, the owner and manager were very prompt to respond to messages.

We booked for a week in mid June 2016.

My flight arrived very early on a Sunday morning and the apartment manager, Stephane, happily met me at the apartment.

We went through a checklist to ensure everything was there and working properly. He provided information about a market, groceries, shopping, dining, the phone, and the closest metro- which happens to be just across the street from the Arc de Triomphe.

The metro was only 2 blocks away and extremely easy to use (download the Paris Metro App). We could be anywhere in the city within 10-20 mins by either walking or using the metro.

Although we wanted to eat a lot of Parisian food, we also cooked in the apartment several times. A small grocery shop was only half a block away and an outdoor market was just a few blocks further. The apartment was well equipped for cooking meals--basically anything you would need.

The couch folds out to a bed so there is really plenty of sleeping space. Both the fold out couch and the bed in the bedroom were comfortable.

Only two things could be perceived as negatives in the apartment--no air conditioning and no elevator. Thankfully neither of these were really considered cons for us. We opened the windows most mornings and evenings which provided a nice breeze. There is also a nice, powerful fan in the apartment to help circulate air.

Stephane came back the morning we departed to do a check out. He again provided great customer service and was so kind.

This apartment was perfect for our stay. I'd highly recommend it to anyone and would definitely book again in the future.

Our stay was perfect. The apartment was a true gem. I felt home right away. Great feeling after spending 11 hours in a plane!!!!

I already recommended the apartment to two of my best friends.

Be Aware of the Fine Print!

We were not able to take our trip to Paris to stay at what appears to be a lovely apartment because of health reasons. BUT, the owner refused to cancel our reservation because he and VRBO were having a dispute over payments. It took several weeks and several emails to have our damage deposit returned. VRBO "does not get involved" in this kind of problem so, if the owner of the property does not respond, there is no recourse. Fortunately, we had trip cancellation insurance through VRBO which I highly recommend. Very stressful.

Owner's Response: Please do not consider this review with only 3 stars as the guest did not see the apartment !!! VRBO did not pay us, this is why we were unable to process the refund. Even several days after the refund was paid, the guest asked for a chargeback on our credit card, which is definitely not honest. Please watch our other reviews of guests that came to the apartment. No one ever complained!!! I understand your frustration but you do not have the right to be dishonest with the owner, the apartment and all the person who do a hard job for the pleasure of our guests. Your only complaint has to be against the management of the site. This is what you tell us in private mail, that your complaint is against the site, and not against the owner, but in that case the rate you give us is totally the opposite of what we usually have.

Light filled top floor flat

We had a nice stay in this little studio sized flat, which, with a wall separating the efficiency kitchen and sitting area from the bedroom, creates a one bedroom sans door. As native NYers it reminded us of studio apts converted to one bedrooms in Manhattan. The photo of the bedroom made depicts place as really swanky and spacious. The kitchen cabinets are fraying and there is water damage from rain around window walks. It is more than adequate for a brief stay for two, but I'd pass if you have more travelers--even with little kids it would be a squeeze. Being a 4/5 floor walk up the light is nice, but somehow I failed to note the lack of elevator in the description. It was fine for our short stay with limited luggage.

Stephane, the liaison, was really great and attentive throughout. Upon leaving though, I've had zero response to inquiries about timeline for crediting security deposit. I've stayed in many Homeaway/VRBO properties, and have never experienced a total lack of contact after checkout--have to say it's put a damper on positive feelings about stay.

Great location

The apartment was in a great location convenient to lots of stores, restaurants, etc. It was clean and very well equipped. The manager, Stephane, was there on our arrival and on our departure (at 6 a.m.) and went out of his way to make our stay as comfortable as possible!!! We enjoyed our time there and highly recommend the apartment.

Safety issues :

After the terrible events this week in Paris, just a few precisions about safety in the area.

The apartment is in the safest area in Paris

it is very close to the Palais de l'Elysée (french President) Ministère de l'intérieur (French Head of Police) and many embassies.

There is also a Police Station close to the apartment.

So a lot of Police at any time of the day.

The apart is in the west part of Paris, while all incidents happened in the Eastern part of Paris.

we will give you advise when you get here.
