Relax on a deck swing or unwind in a roomy whirlpool tub in this secluded cabin after a day of specialty shopping, hiking or tubing in Alpine Helen, GA, 6 miles away. Kathryn's Kottage offers intimate privacy on its woodsy, one-acre lot. Nearby Anna Ruby Falls is beautiful, and tubing down the Chattahoochee is a must! Sautee junction, 2 miles away, has unique shops, art galleries and sandwich shops. There is something for everyone when you visit for a weekend or a week at Kathryn's Kottage!
I grew up in Atlanta and have lived near there almost my whole life. I love the North GA Mountains, and especially loved Helen as a child.
Kathryn purchased this cottage in 2006
It is peaceful and secluded, and yet close to fun and attractions.
Deck swing, whirlpool tub, loft bedroom for the kids, and an extra futon mattress to spread on the floor. Lots of peaceful enjoyment!
We really enjoyed our stay here! The cottage and surroundings were beautiful! Only thing to note, there is no way to turn around in the driveway - you must back out. But, the cottage is worth it! I would, without a doubt, want to stay here again!
It was a nice getaway. The interior was clean but needs updating. No internet and no cell service, so if you want to disconnect it is the right place.
We got away for the weekend and loved it. It was a perfect family get away.
The house is set in a quiet place very close to Helen. There are extras everywhere inside the house. The back porch is a great place to relax through out the trip.
My wife, youngest son, eldest son, daughter-in-law, and I stayed in VRBO Property 456051 (Kathryn's Kottage) from Friday 27Dec13 until Tuesday 31Dec13. The house was easy to find, within easy driving distance of Helen, and about 45-60 minutes away from the hiking trails we hoped to do. The house was clean and served our needs very well. However, my wife did feel that the furnishings seemed to be thrown together. The beds weren't particularly comfortable and the coffee table in the living room was missing the glass needed to protect the decorative wicker beneath it (Basically you couldn't put anything heavier than a coffee cup on the table). However, these small issues in no way detracted from the enjoyment we had while staying there. We prepared our dinner there each night. The stove worked great and there was more than an adequate supply of dishes, pots, pans and silverware. If we stay in the mountains again next Christmas, I'll probably try someplace new but certainly wouldn't mind returning to Kathryn's Cottage.
