A cozy cottage with plenty of room, close to town

  • 4 of 5

The Heathers is a very nice house, not far from Louisburgh. It felt like a home with comfortable chairs, nice bathrooms and showers, complete kitchen and views from the dining room of green hillsides and Clew Bay. Everything was clean when we arrived there were good instructions on how to use the WIFI and TVs.

Just a couple of things could have been improved. We tried washing clothes but they came out of the washer sopping wet and had to be rung out before putting in the dryer. Then the dryer left the clothes hot and wet...even on the gentle cycle. Colors ran on some of my wife's clothes from the excess heat. I'm pretty sure I did everything correctly, but this should be looked into. Also, the electric kettle was leaking. We did not use the dishwasher.

These items are pointed out to help with future guests. However I want to emphasize that our stay was pleasant and we enjoyed it very much. I would recommend this house to anyone else looking for a cottage in Louisburgh and we may stay there again on our next visit.

Fantastic well equipped house in perfect location to explore Mayo and Galway

  • 5 of 5

Great house with lots of space. Very well equipped and all modern facilities. Perfect for family with two young children and safe for them in the cul-de-sac to play. Location is quiet and tucked away but within easy 5 min walk of Louisburgh. A great base to explore Westport, Croagh Patrick, Newport and Achill and further afield to Connemara, Cong, Clifton and Galway City for day trips and when you get back settle down in front of the fire.

Maigh Eo Vacation Headquarters

  • 5 of 5

What a lovely, clean, and comfortable home for our family of 4 adults and 2 children. The surrounding countryside is beautiful and an easy stroll to the village of Louisburgh. Nicely located for some day trips to Westport, Clare Island, Achill Island, and Ballintubber Abbey.

Lovely house in a very good location

  • 5 of 5

Very nice house 5 minutes walk from the center of the village of Louisburgh and the sea in a quiet area. The bright extension at the back of the house is very welcome on rainy and windy days. The house was equipped with everything we needed.

I guess the only thing that has to be noted is that the internet connection is slow and unreliable which could be a problem if you absolutely need Wifi.

A peaceful sojourn

  • 5 of 5

We had such a great week at the cottage! Everything went very well indeed - a pleasant stroll to the friendly village of Luisburgh, a scenic drive into Westport and plenty of gastronomic delights at local restaurants and cafes. The cottage had all that we needed- it was cosy and comfortable, well presented and so easy to live in. We had just had a hectic week in Sweden at a family wedding so this was the perfect recovery sojourn! We looked out for the hares but sadly they were all in hiding. We would all highly recommend this cottage!

Highly convenient for exploring Mayo and Connemara - Killary Harbour, Ireland's only fjord is just a 20 minute drive through stunning countryside. Louisburgh is the ideal location for hillwalking, angling, cycling or just a relaxing family break. Surf school nearby and surf board, bike hire also available locally.

The Heathers is a well equipped, charming and spacious cottage (1500sq ft; 145sq m ) located just a 5 minute stroll from the village centre with views of Clew Bay and the Atlantic beyond. A perfect vacation rental!
