Guestbook comments from the owner

Thank you so much for such a wonderful holiday at Ruby Stove Cottage. The weather was very cold but the cottage was so cosy with the wood burner.

We enjoyed seeing many of the sights that you informed us about.  It was a pleasure to meet your Mum, Brother and Sister Mabel (breakfast was a real treat).  Your Mum told me her recipe for soda bread which I must try to make.

Again many thanks and we hope to visit Ruby Stove Cottage again in the future and will definitely recommend it to our friends.

Great little cottage

  • 5 of 5

A lovely, well equipped, very spacious and comfortable cottage. We had a couple of chilly evenings, so really appreciated the log fire!

Highly recommended.

Cosy cottage in a great location

  • 5 of 5

We spent a fantastic few days in the area, mostly walking and taking in the amazing coastline, which is only minutes away in the car. The cottage is extremely comfortable and well equipped with real consideration to detail which made us feel very welcome. Dealing with John prior to the trip was pleasure and everything was well organised. We hope to go back some day and would definitely stay here again if we do.

Owner's Response: Thank you! It is always a joy to share the beautiful North Antrim Coast with our guests. I remember many a stroll to the Giant’s Causeway on a Sunday afternoon when I was growing up. So glad you enjoyed it.

Alovely Antrim Coast BAse!

  • 5 of 5

What a great location and lovely cottage! John has thought of everything to make a stay here comfortable and memorable. Travel directions were good. We liked the ability to reprogram the entry keypad. Upon entry we were met with an immaculate cottage and a welcome basket of treats (even milk and butter in the refrigerator). Plenty of tourist information and guide books were provided. Wifi was excellent. Special comforts we appreciated were reclining chairs (good for putting your feet up after a day of walking), rainfall shower, and a top sheet under the duvet that was welcome on a warm night. This renovated cottage was a terrific find for us as a base to explore the Antrim coast. We have already recommended it to friends and family.

Lovely Irish Countryside Cottage

  • 5 of 5

Lovely country cottage, near the town of Bushmills and down the street from the giant causeway. We used this cottage as a base for golfing in Northern Ireland and found it's location to be central to many of N. Irelands famous courses. As an early riser, the squeaky floors did make it difficult for any early morning sneaking around! Would reccommend this well equipped cottage to anyone wishing to experience a bit if the Irish countryside!

Owner's Response: The Royal Portrush Golf Course is listed in the top 10 Links Courses in the World and is a scenic 20 minutes drive along the coast from our door. But it may take longer because you will probably want to stop in Bushmills for a wee cup of tea or a wee drap of Bushmills. Then you will want to stop to see Dunluce Castle. So to avoid all these distractions a new golf course is in the planning stages to help you get to your tee-time on time. The new course will be just past the Giant's Causeway on the way to Bushmills and you will be able to make it in about 4 minutes from the cottage.

Great place

  • 5 of 5

Great place. Close to many attractions. We enjoyed every minute, just be ready for the country-smell and mice running in the walls.

Owner's Response: When you think about it, it might have been better if Saint Patrick had driven the mice out of Ireland instead of the snakes! But we called in James, and he took care of the problem. He really is a "saint."

An excellent holiday

  • 5 of 5

Ruby Stove Cottage turned out to be far better than expected. We had a wonderfully relaxing week there. All the equipment and furnishings were of top quality and fulfilled all our needs and more! The location is excellent and we were able to access wonderful cliff walks to Dunluce and in the other direction, the rope bridge. (we are enjoy walking but all attractions are easily reached by road or local bus as well) John made booking the accomodation very easy and provided concise directions to the cottage for our arrival. There is a vast amount of literature about the area available in the cottage as well. I would certainly recommend the property to couples wishing to visit the Causeway coast. On our return to Belfast for our flight home, we drove the Antrm coastal route which is spectacular and not to be missed. I would also recommend Glenariff Forest Park and the waterfall walk. I am sure we will return to Ruby Stove Cottage
