Built in 1916, this cozy cottage has two bedrooms with cushy queen beds and a full futon in the living area. It sleeps 6 comfortably. The bathroom has a deep clawfoot tub to soak in. Our dining nook has benches full of board games to play with the kids or just people who used to be kids. Modern additions include Wi-Fi/PS2 with many games/HDTV/blu-ray player. The large fenced yard has a fire pit to sit around and roast marshmallows or just gaze at the stars. It has a washer and dryer to help clean off the sand from the beach. It is a perfect place to reconnect with your loved ones.
I grew up in Coeur d'Alene and I bought this house when I was a single girl. I have added a husband and two kids since then but our little house has been a home to nieces and brothers since. I brought my first baby home here and my my niece recently added twin girls to the lists of babies who have crawled around on its floors.
Diana Nottage purchased this cottage in 1999
This cozy corner cottage caught my eye nestled under its arching oak trees. It is bright and airy and so close to everthing going on downtown. It is only blocks away from all the local restauraunts, city beach and Tubbs Hill. The grocery store is right across the street so it is perfect for that midnight ice cream run. The large fenced yard is private and perfect for summer parties or just a quiet night gazing at the stars.
Summer in Coeur d'Alene: There is nothing better than waking up in a bright cheery room then soaking in a deep tub sipping your tea. Then maybe taking a stroll downtown, getting a 'bowl of soul' from Java, checking out 'The Shops', grabbing a Hudsons Hamburger to go and hiking up Tubbs for a swim on a beach with no one else there. Later in the afternoon you can bike down to the city park to see which band is playing or catch a play at Summer Theater. Walking down brightly lit Sherman and people watching is always an interesting past time or maybe a romantic stroll around the boardwalk to finish up the evening. Don't forget to stop by the resort for a 'Gooeys'
This was a great place for our trip! It was well located and perfect for our needs. Diana, the owner, was quick to respond to all our questions. She was also very accommodating to our needs for the trip. Everything worked great, internet, hot water, furnace, stove, etc.. Very close to many hiking trails and yummy restaraunts. Thank you so much we enjoyed our stay.
Great location: easy walk to town by lake and boardwalk; Interesting neighborhood close to grocery and to shopping north and movie theater to northwest.
My husband, adult son, and I stayed here and were very satisfied. It has two bedrooms, living room, dining room, kitchen, and bathroom. There was a comfortable queen bed in each of the bedrooms and a nice futon in the living room. The place is clutter free, but it does have games to use. The shower/tub leaked from the bottom, but the owner said she just had it repaired and would call the workman again. The kitchen had everything that one would need. There was a large back yard. The nice thing was that there was a large Safeway across the street, so we got take-out food from the deli. I would stay here again.
We thoroughly enjoyed staying at the "Cottage". This older home seems small on the outside, but is very open and surprisingly roomy on the inside. There was ample kitchen supplies for us to make breakfast every morning (much better than you would get at a hotel) and the convenience of the Safeway across the street was great. The area around was very easy to navigate and close to the beach which was nice for our kids. We checked out the various thrift stores and several restaurants in the area as well (Texas Roadhouse especially). Diana was very friendly and responsive when we had an issue with the wifi and that was the only hiccup we had during our stay. We even left a game of Yahtzee for other guests to enjoy to add to her collection of games !! Thank You Diana for allowing us to spend a week at your home to enjoy the sights of Coeur D'Alene !!
The house was clean and comfortable. We very much enjoyed our stay here. Dianna supplied toiletries and coffee which is always appreciated.
Sweet little house so close to downtown, walking distance to Safeway (VERY HANDY) and great parking. Some fantastic, family friendly restaurants, Meltz Extreme and Schmidty's burgers. Even better than Safeway was the Pilgrim's Market. Thank you for making it a wonderful first time experience with VRBO!
Equidistant to three local ski Mountains, 10 miles from Silverwood theme and water park, walking distance to downtown Coeur d'Alene with shops, local restaurants, City park, Tubbs Hill, hiking, snorkeling and swimming. Just off the Centennial trail (biking, jogging, roller bladeing) stretches from Montana to Washington! Walking distance to North Idaho College, University of Idaho and Lewis Clark State College campus', local theater and concerts in the park. Farmers markets from May-September just blocks away. Art on the Green is a must for CD'A visitors. Coeur d'alene Resort boasts a world famous floating green and the worlds longest floating boardwalk. Many local farmers offer u-pick produce for fresh family meals. You can watch Bald Eagles in their natural environment on Coeur d'Alene Lake.
