Located in one of the beautiful saltmarsh-front neighborhoods that run along the road to Folly Beach, Paddler's Cove is a beautiful one-bedroom, one-bath downstairs apartment in a private residence, ten minutes from downtown Charleston and two miles from Folly Beach. The apartment was recently renovated. It would be comfortable for a couple or a family with as many as three kids.

The apartment/house looks out onto a tidal creek that connects with the Folly River and eventually the ocean. It offers excellent kayaking, canoeing and standup paddle boarding. Equipment is not included but can be rented from a local outfitter and launched off the dock. There are many species of birds, like the Blue Heron, Ibis, Egrets, Wood Storks and pelicans that make their home in the marsh just feet from the house. It is not uncommon to be visited by a family of dolphins that swim up the creek to feed.

This is a downstairs apartment below our family, and while we installed sound-barrier panels in the ceiling with the renovation, you can still hear noises. Our family goes to bed and wakes up early so if you are night owls and like to sleep in, this may not be the best place for you. We are the ideal place for families with kids on a similar schedule.

We are not on Folly Island proper, but a peninsula minutes up the road.

We are in a quiet neighborhood where houses are close together. We cannot accommodate people coming to Folly to party, but those coming to relax and enjoy nature and Charleston. 2 adults maximum at all times, no noise after 10pm and absolutely no parties of any size.

We moved here in 2009 so that we could raise our kids by the water and beach and be surrounded by nature. We quickly discovered how many friends we had once we lived by the beach! We're glad to have this great apartment to offer to our family, old friends and new friends.

Enjoy nature in your own backyard from the private dock while being only a short drive to the perfect little beach town of Folly Beach and Historic Downtown Charleston. We are quite kid friendly.

What makes this apartment unique

Bird watching- large Blue Herons, Ibis and Egrets perch on our dock. Nature viewing - dolphins often visit within arm's reach. Crabbing, kayaking, stand up paddling, creek swimming and fishing off the private dock (equipment must be rented). Surfboard and standup paddleboard rental can be arranged. Harris Teeter grocery store is located across Folly Road from our neighborhood.

This is a quiet neighborhood away from the hustle and bustle of Folly Beach in the summertime. It's very easy to get to downtown Charleston as well.

Great Location and very clean!!

We loved this property! It's in a great location not too far from the beach and about 15 min to historic Charleston! It's very clean and well kept. The owners are very nice and very accommodating.

Just one minor suggestion.. the bed is in need of replacing. Not horrible but I wouldn't be able to sleep on it for more than a few nights.
