SAN FRANCISCO SHORT-TERM RESIDENTIAL RENTAL RESISTRATION NUMBER: STR-0000091

Possession of a San FranciscoShort-Term Rental Certificate certifies that the registration certificate holder has agreed to comply with the terms of the San Francisco Short-Term Residential Rental Ordinance (San Francisco Administrative Code Section 41A. This ordinance does not require an inspection of the unit by the City for potential Building, Housing, Fire, or other Code Violations.

This charming Russian Hill property, in an Edwardian building built in 1907, is the perfect location for your San Francisco get-away. The building is located on a quiet street in the delightful Russian Hill neighborhood that is full of old world charm, and is conveniently located near many of the wonderful sites and flavors that San Francisco has to offer:

1½ blocks to cable car (Hyde Street)

Less than 10 minute walk to historic North Beach

Less than 10 minute walk to bustling Chinatown

Less than 10 minute walk to Polk Street cafes and shops

3 minute cable car ride to Lombard St

5 minute cable car ride to Ghirardelli Square and Fisherman’s Wharf

Imagine waking up in this classic San Francisco property deciding what to do with your day. You could go to a North Beach bakery for cappuccino and a pastry, followed by a walk to Coit Tower and Washington Square. Or you could head to Chinatown for Dim Sum, go souvenir shopping on Grant Ave followed by a traditional foot massage. Maybe you want to go to a coffee shop on Polk Street followed by an afternoon of window shopping at the many boutiques on Polk and Union streets. Or maybe you’ll take the cable car to Fisherman’s Wharf for a seafood brunch followed by a ferry boat ride to Alcatraz.

About the property:

The master bedroom has a king size bed and bay window, decorated with art deco accents. The second bedroom has a queen size bed, original pocket doors that open to the living room, and is decorated with authentic California Plein-Air paintings.

The living room has a brand new, super comfortable pull-out sleeper sofa that sleeps two people. There are hardwood floors throughout the flat.

The newly renovated kitchen has beautiful original tile work from the 1920s as well as many contemporary conveniences, including a new dishwasher and microwave. I love to cook and I’ve stocked this kitchen with all the cookware, vintage dishware and cookbooks you need to make your own feasts if you so desire.

In classic San Francisco fashion, the bathroom and toilet room are separated. Both have original tile from the 1920s as well as vintage art deco mirrors.

Amenities include:

• Washer and Dryer in unit

• Complimentary coffee and tea

• Bedding and towels provided

• Shampoo, soap and blow dryer provided

• 50' HD Cable TV and high speed wireless internet

• Telephone with free domestic service

• Small outdoor yard with gas grill

• iPod docking station

Parking is available for an additional $30 per day. If you would like to reserve parking please indicate that in your request.

If you don't like the idea of walking up or down a hill you may want to consider renting a car or staying in a flatter (but not nearly as scenic or convenient!) area of town.

San Francisco is a great town for walking, but if you want to drop into a gym or attend a yoga class, there are several facilities close by.

No smoking anywhere on the property, including the outdoor backyard and the front steps.

Guests have access to the property, the shared back yard and the shared garage. I live in the property which has a separate entrance.

About Kenji Yokoo

I moved from my native country of Japan to the Russian Hill neighborhood of San Francisco over 20 years ago and I plan to stay here forever. I truly love San Francisco and Russian Hill in particular. I manage my own art business and love collecting and restoring antiques. I also love traveling, wine tasting, hiking, visiting museums and galleries, cooking, and checking out new San Francisco restaurants and coffee shops.

I am passionate about respecting and maintaining San Francisco’s old world charm. I personally restored this property, keeping as much of the original details that I could while creating a comfortable atmosphere with modern conveniences. I want guests to have an authentic San Francisco experience, and hope the space I have created will make you feel at home.

Because I have lived here for so long, I can provide guests with tips on sites and local restaurants that are off of the beaten path. I can also recommend neighborhood walks that expose guests to the historic and cultural charm that San Francisco has to offer. Since I often go to Napa and Sonoma, I have many recommendations of wineries that you may want to visit.

I am proud of my adopted city and my home and want to share them with you. I hope that you can experience all the wonders of San Francisco that I am so lucky to enjoy everyday.

Perfect host. Perfect home in San Francisco.

  • 5 of 5

What a wonderful property and location! Kenji could not have been more kind, prepared or accommodating and his warm welcome was as much a highlight as the many wonders in this fabulous city! For a family of four with two teens who enjoy their own space, this suited us each perfectly. The thought, maintenance and cleanliness in Kenji's home are noteworthy. Cupboards stocked with staples, lovely linens and a coffee/tea station made our stay even better. Sincerely grateful to have found this listing and we will return!

Fantastic Stay & Fabulous Host

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 5 had the most wonderful time staying in Kenji's Russian Hill apartment. The apartment is warm, so comfortable and clean, beautifully decorated, safe and conveniently located. There are gorgeous views everywhere you turn and Polk street with it's numerous interesting neighborhood restaurants is an easy 10min walk away. We ate at Street which Kenji recommended and it was a cozy, friendly place with delicious food.

What made our stay much more than excellent was Kenji's warmth, hospitality and thoughtfulness. He took so much time to orientate us to the apartment and the neighborhood. He generously provided everything we could possibly need or think of to make our stay there exactly like we were living in our very own fabulous home.

We would definitely love to stay here the next time we are in SF.

Conveniently Located Flat in San Fran

  • 5 of 5

Kenji's flat was perfect for our group of five ladies! It was conveniently located within striking distance of Union Square, Fisherman's Wharf, and other tourist attractions. The flat is in a very quiet and safe part of town with minimal traffic on the street. Kenji was incredibly hospitable; welcoming me to the flat at 1AM after flight delays of 4+ hours and getting up early to make sure we had a proper sendoff. Kenji has personally put together binders of tourist attractions, restaurants, etc. and sat down with me upon arrival at 1AM to go over a map of the area which was extremely helpful for our adventures the following day. Overall a wonderful apartment with all the amenities you can think of and the most gracious host!

Loved staying here! Great place and Kenji was an amazing host!

  • 5 of 5

The listing description was accurate regarding location, layout, etc. Kenji made sure the place was very clean. It was a good location and had some beautiful views that he showed us. He was very welcoming and helpful. He recommended places to see and restaurants to eat at. He even made us tea. He was a phenomenal host. When we arrived he was there to greet us and show us around his place. We were only there for a day but we loved it and highly recommend staying here if you go to San Francisco. Kenji was great!

FANTASTIC STAY!!!!

  • 5 of 5

What a treat!! We were two couples traveling up the California coast with a short stay in San Francisco and Sonoma. Having stayed in several Homeaways we wanted to have the San Fran experience, not a hotel. We were greeted by Kenji and treated to Japanese tea which was such a lovely start to our stay. We were also surprised with a bottle of Merlot and chocolates, such a thoughtful welcoming. He gave us a tour of the apartment and had several books he went over with us that he had put together with menus, things to do and the lay of the city. The apartment is immaculate, beautiful and very well appointed. We had everything we needed and more. Location is great, at the top of Russian Hill, close to restaurants and shops and great scenery. We walked to several eateries (downhill) and took Uber back. I can't say enough about the host. You can tell he loves San Francisco and wants each of his guest to have best experience they can, and we did!! He puts so much time and detail into everything. He also makes himself available if needed, we texted a few times when we were out and about for restaurant tips and he responded immediately. Bottom Line ---This was one of the best experiences we have had renting a Homeaway stay. More than just a rental, you are treated like family by someone who makes the stay wonderful. You MUST stay here!! Great place, better host. Kenji is the best!!!! Rhonda C.
