SAN FRANCISCO SHORT-TERM RESIDENTIAL RENTAL RESISTRATION NUMBER: STR-0000091

Possession of a San FranciscoShort-Term Rental Certificate certifies that the registration certificate holder has agreed to comply with the terms of the San Francisco Short-Term Residential Rental Ordinance (San Francisco Administrative Code Section 41A. This ordinance does not require an inspection of the unit by the City for potential Building, Housing, Fire, or other Code Violations.

This charming Russian Hill property, in an Edwardian building built in 1907, is the perfect location for your San Francisco get-away. The building is located on a quiet street in the delightful Russian Hill neighborhood that is full of old world charm, and is conveniently located near many of the wonderful sites and flavors that San Francisco has to offer:

1½ blocks to cable car (Hyde Street)

Less than 10 minute walk to historic North Beach

Less than 10 minute walk to bustling Chinatown

Less than 10 minute walk to Polk Street cafes and shops

3 minute cable car ride to Lombard St

5 minute cable car ride to Ghirardelli Square and Fisherman’s Wharf

Imagine waking up in this classic San Francisco property deciding what to do with your day. You could go to a North Beach bakery for cappuccino and a pastry, followed by a walk to Coit Tower and Washington Square. Or you could head to Chinatown for Dim Sum, go souvenir shopping on Grant Ave followed by a traditional foot massage. Maybe you want to go to a coffee shop on Polk Street followed by an afternoon of window shopping at the many boutiques on Polk and Union streets. Or maybe you’ll take the cable car to Fisherman’s Wharf for a seafood brunch followed by a ferry boat ride to Alcatraz.

About the property:

The master bedroom has a king size bed and bay window, decorated with art deco accents. The second bedroom has a queen size bed, original pocket doors that open to the living room, and is decorated with authentic California Plein-Air paintings.

The living room has a brand new, super comfortable pull-out sleeper sofa that sleeps two people. There are hardwood floors throughout the flat.

The newly renovated kitchen has beautiful original tile work from the 1920s as well as many contemporary conveniences, including a new dishwasher and microwave. I love to cook and I’ve stocked this kitchen with all the cookware, vintage dishware and cookbooks you need to make your own feasts if you so desire.

In classic San Francisco fashion, the bathroom and toilet room are separated. Both have original tile from the 1920s as well as vintage art deco mirrors.

Amenities include:

• Washer and Dryer in unit

• Complimentary coffee and tea

• Bedding and towels provided

• Shampoo, soap and blow dryer provided

• 50' HD Cable TV and high speed wireless internet

• Telephone with free domestic service

• Small outdoor yard with gas grill

• iPod docking station

Parking is available for an additional $30 per day. If you would like to reserve parking please indicate that in your request.

If you don't like the idea of walking up or down a hill you may want to consider renting a car or staying in a flatter (but not nearly as scenic or convenient!) area of town.

San Francisco is a great town for walking, but if you want to drop into a gym or attend a yoga class, there are several facilities close by.

No smoking anywhere on the property, including the outdoor backyard and the front steps.

Guests have access to the property, the shared back yard and the shared garage. I live in the property which has a separate entrance.

About Kenji Yokoo

I moved from my native country of Japan to the Russian Hill neighborhood of San Francisco over 20 years ago and I plan to stay here forever. I truly love San Francisco and Russian Hill in particular. I manage my own art business and love collecting and restoring antiques. I also love traveling, wine tasting, hiking, visiting museums and galleries, cooking, and checking out new San Francisco restaurants and coffee shops.

I am passionate about respecting and maintaining San Francisco’s old world charm. I personally restored this property, keeping as much of the original details that I could while creating a comfortable atmosphere with modern conveniences. I want guests to have an authentic San Francisco experience, and hope the space I have created will make you feel at home.

Because I have lived here for so long, I can provide guests with tips on sites and local restaurants that are off of the beaten path. I can also recommend neighborhood walks that expose guests to the historic and cultural charm that San Francisco has to offer. Since I often go to Napa and Sonoma, I have many recommendations of wineries that you may want to visit.

I am proud of my adopted city and my home and want to share them with you. I hope that you can experience all the wonders of San Francisco that I am so lucky to enjoy everyday.

Beautiful, spacious flat

  • 5 of 5

My family (husband, 2 teens and a 10 year old) and I stayed in Kenji's apartment for 5 nights in August 2016 and had a great experience. As our family usually requires 2 hotel rooms, we were thrilled to have so much space and so many home amenities. Although we never cooked dinner in the apartment, we definitely could have as the flat was fully stocked with pots/pans and spices/condiments. We enjoyed having breakfast at our leisure in the spacious kitchen and having a snack when we came back to rest after a long day of sight seeing. The flat is nicely situated on a quiet street in an upscale neighborhood not far from a number of restaurants and other attractions. As is much of San Francisco, the flat was on a hill near the famous Lombard Street. We quickly learned to walk downhill in the morning and Uber home uphill. Kenji was an incredible host with a great attention to detail and a lot of personal service that we didn't expect simply renting a flat. The apartment is spotless with very comfortable bedding (a king, queen and sleeper queen), a well-appointed kitchen, full size washer/dryer, cable tv and wifi. Kenji lives right upstairs and responded to texts in minutes when we needed a little help or guidance. He spent 20 minutes when we arrived giving us the lay of the land and he has assembled some great books to help guests understand what is close by and ways to get around town. He also greeted us with a tea when we arrived. Bottom line - we had an outstanding experience in the flat and Kenji was a gentleman and great host. We would definitely recommend this flat.

Great Flat - Highly Recommend!

  • 5 of 5

Cannot say enough about the property as well as the host! Great place. Great stay. To begin with the all important issue of sleep - beds are super comfy and the apartment is very quiet despite being a City spot. Great sleep! Kitchen is terrific even though we ate out mostly at some of the great restaurants in the area. Russian Hill is so close to so much of SF - ideal location for us. We went with our two teens, so 4 of us. Was great spot from which to explore downtown SF, the Golden Gate, The Mosaic Stairs and a bunch of terrific eateries!! We biked and walked and Uber rode all over the City. While the apartment was perfect for us (also very safe area) - it was the owner Kenji himself who really made our stay great. Tired travelers he knew right when we were arriving and greeted us with Tea! He was amazing in terms of advising us as to places to go, things to see, ways to travel and all the good restaurants in the area. He was so available - a gem and a real "extra" to the rental.

Thank you Kenji! If you are going to SF and need a terrific comfy spot for a few days - grab it!

Gorgeous flat in a perfect location!

  • 5 of 5

We had an amazing time in San Francisco using this perfect flat as our home base. Kenjii is a wonderful host and provided maps and advice about the city, and he supplied the flat with all kinds of amenities to make staying there feel like home. The flat is located in a great neighborhood near shops and restaurants, as well as near great views of the city. We cannot wait to return.

Great place! Great host!

  • 5 of 5

Kenji greeted and treated us like family. The flat is spacious, and is perfectly located to shops and exploration. Kenji was also able to help us find the best restaurants and was cool enough to let us rent his garage too. Very highly recommended and cant wait to come back.
