Joanna Gaines : " I feel like a dog with a T-bone steak!" She wants to get a hold of it and so can you!
It has been a great gift to discover this gem on the corner of 19th and Morrow in Waco, Texas. When I first drove by the home it was covered in vines, the yard was littered with trash and the front door was permanently open for those that needed shelter from the outside elements. Even in its dilapidated state, I could not resist the charm and the historical beauty of this home. After hours of research and countless phone calls we were able to purchase this home and begin our journey to restore it to its former glory.
The Morrow House was the very first home built in the neighborhood of Sanger Heights in 1886. It was built and owned by a man named Jacob Levinski that immigrated to our country from Russia or Poland. He and his family owned the local jewelry store on Austin Avenue. After his family passed away it was owned by Mrs. Bussey. She was well known for serving in the local church and teaching private violin and piano lessons inside her home. Some of her old students have reached out to us and have come to visit and take pictures in the home where so many of their childhood memories were created. I think the best part of our process has been the people we have met along the way and the new friends we have made in Waco. I hope you will feel the same way during your stay!
Details about your stay:
As you walk up the path to our home you will be walking on the original stones that we discovered deep under grass and mud. Make your way around the outside of the home where you will marvel at the original hand made lattice on the porch, the authentic windows, and the detailed, decorative trim that makes this house so special. As you enter the home you will fall in love with high ceilings, huge pocket doors and the shiplap we recovered under layers of sheetrock. Our contractor, Chuck Walker, was able to remove and restore and hand finish all 23 windows. As you will notice the light in the home is one of its significant and grandest of its features.
Our home will sleep 10 comfortably. There are two master en-suites. Both hosting luxurious king size beds and well appointed bathrooms. Our third bedroom has two full sized beds with its own private bathroom. We have also included a Restoration Hardware queen size sofa sleeper that is unbelievably comfortable.
Our state of the art kitchen comes fully equipped with all Jenn-Air appliances. Your family will love gathering around for a home cooked meal as you will have everything you need if you desire to work in the kitchen. And if you don’t feel like cooking, we have a list of great restaurants and you can call Sic Em’ Delivery to deliver straight to the doorstep. We have a large dining table that seats 10 and provided board games ready to play for those late night hang outs. Our living area is the hub of the home with ample seating and a flat screen T.V. is provided to watch the football games and your favorite shows.
We have spared no expenses to detail, design, or furnishings. From the large chandeliers, to the beautiful bedding and down to the tiniest of trimmings – we hope you will visit us soon and take in the wonderful city of Waco.
