About the property

Luxury 1 Bedroom Apartment in Edinburgh's City Centre

This luxury 1 bedroom apartment is in a magnificent Georgian town house located right in the city centre on Queen Street. It is on the second floor (up 2 flights of stairs) of this 18th century building and offers spectacular views across the north of the city and over the Firth of Forth to Fife.

One enters the property into a magnificent entrance hall with wood panelling and a feature cast iron stair balustrade.

The bright, spacious sitting room has a gas fire, comfortable leather sofas and there is an additional sofa which converts into a double bed. A large dining table is provided with seating for 6 so entertaining is not a problem. The bedroom is well furnished and has large fitted wardrobes and a queen-size bed. The kitchen is well equipped with dishwasher, washer/dryer, gas stove and electric oven. The bathroom has a power shower over the bath.

Wifi internet is provided. Parking may be made available on request.

Queen Street is right in the city centre being located just behind George Street, one of the city's most important shopping streets. This means that you are within a few minutes walk from some of the best shops, restaurants, bars and tourist attractions that Edinburgh has to offer. There is the added bonus of being able to look out over the tree tops in Queen Street Gardens (a key is provided for the gardens) and beyond is the Firth of Forth so you practically have a "sea view"!

Please note we do not have any recent reviews because this apartment has not been used as a holiday let for the last 3 years.

This our second stay here. The apartment is very comfortable, we love the views, and a great location on Queen Street!

This was my first flat rental and it was a fantastic one. The apartment was beautiful and a fabulous location. Everything was within reasonable distance. The entire flat was clean and tidy. We were there on one of the hottest weeks in Edinburgh, even without air conditioning, we stayed very comfortable. The north facing windows provided a great breeze. The pub/restaurant we went to the most was the Queen's Arms, just around the corner on Frederick St. Minus the airline loosing our luggage, our week in Edinburgh was as close to perfect as it could get.

Worked perfectly

Beautiful place.

As of Nov 2012, the place looks exactly as the photos.

Top floor, with nice views.

Don't hear much at all from other units. There is occasionally a bit of street noise, but it is central Edinburgh after all.

Well equipped kitchen, and very nicely located.

They provide a key to explore the Queen's Street gardens across the way.

Heating system works great - kept us nice and warm during our mid-fall visit.

Bed was very comfortable.

Location: many restaurants and coffee shops with a 1/2 block. About a 15 minute walk to the main train station. Even less to get to Rose Street (pedestrian) and many of the central Edinburgh attractions. Central Edinburgh is quite compact, so we did not even end up taking any buses - easy to walk everywhere from the apartment.

Didn't disappoint!

  • 5 of 5

The apartment was perfect for our visit during the Edinburgh Festival, being easy walking distance from the majority of venues, and only a stone's throw from the fringe half price ticket hut at the bottom of Hanover Street. It was also ideal for a spot of shopping, with the big named shops just on the road parallel.

The spacious apartment was spotlessly clean with beautiful furnishings. The king size bed was very comfortable!

The only downside was that those big old windows were not very good at sound proofing from the traffic noise, but what do you expect in a city??

Will still book again!

Owner's Response: Thank you for this. We have thought about renovating the original window shutters which would provide good sound-proofing when closed. Alternatively secondary glazing can be installed so this is also an option. Interestingly very few people have mentioned the road noise - I was expecting this to be more of an issue but we will see what other guests say.

The apartment is excellent. It´s very beautiful and suitable to visit the city and Scotland but It can be better if the portal wasn´t very dirty and if the street wasn´t a lot of cars. But in general it was very good.

Car: not necessary

This really is right in the city centre, being in Edinburgh's beautiful New Town, a 2 minute walk from the main shopping streets, George Street and Princes Street and being surrounded by most of the city's best bars, restaurants and tourist attractions.
