About Yu Kuwabara
My wife Kim and I live in Oakland, CA with our two boys Kai and Nikko. I am Japanese, but raised in Oregon. Kim is from Auburn, Alabama (War Eagle!) and we met at grad school at UC Berkeley 15 years ago. We love hiking, biking, skiing, running, swimming, unicycling and enjoying the great outdoors. Kim works as an Environmental Engineer at Ramboll and I am a Research Scientist at GoodGuide.
Yu Kuwabara purchased this House in 2016
Why Yu Kuwabara chose Serene Lakes
We are both avid skiers and have been part of a ski lease for the last 10+ years. Spending so much time here in the winter, and more and more in the summer we bought the house as a place to make memories with friends and family. We use the house in the winter and rent it out in the summer. With its location so close to ski areas, bay area, lakes, and trails we immediately fell in love with the house and the neighborhood.
What makes this House unique
There are trails galore for trail runners... there are many trail running events (Tahoe RAGNAR, Castle Peak 100k, etc) that start near by. There are so many beautiful alpine lakes to hike to, and after your day outside, you can come back and soak in the hot tub.
Cancelled bookings will not receive a refund.
We thoroughly enjoyed the home! The beds slept comfortably, the home was very well equipped!
We had a wonderful stay at Pahotsi Totsi. The home was perfectly equipped for us to cook, the beds were very comfortable and we thoroughly enjoyed a good soak in the hot tub. The area is beautiful! Amanda, caretaker, checked in on us regularly by text to make sure we had what we needed. We really appreciated her quick responses to questions we had. It was a very cozy and comfortable place and we were very happy we chose this home.
Our family stayed at this home on Labor Day weekend. The house is nice and spacious for several people. There are 2 bathrooms and it sleeps about 13-15 people. The kitchen is well -stocked with everything you need for cooking meals. There were bikes, skis, water toys, etc in the garage (we didn't use). It's a gorgeous area, with lots of outdoor activities, even in the summer.
The "Pahatsi Totsi" is close to Serene Lakes (for canoeing, kayaking, swimming, beach-time); other lakes (Long Lake with a rope swing), hiking, mountain biking, downhill skiing, cross-country skiing, and sledding. Our place is good for families (with kids), big groups (2 or 3 families), and furry friends (pets), upon approval. We also just installed a 3-4 person hot tub! Come stay & relax & enjoy!
