A little slice of heaven

  • 5 of 5

My brother and I took my mom to North Captiva to celebrate her 80th birthday, and it was a perfect getaway! Isle Be There is a beautiful home with all the amenities (including heat - it was 47 degrees there our first day, but warmed up nicely by day 2). The house was clean and well-maintained and in a perfect location. We walked to the pool and pool bar, to the beach and to the preserve within just a few minutes. No cars allowed - a huge bonus. Just cute little golf carts. We ate at Mangos (decent), Barnacles (above average) and Over the Waterfront, which was an awesome experience. One person works there - chef, waiter, busboy. Food was fabulous and he was hysterical.

My only comment is that if you are planning to travel there with someone who may be infirmed or not terribly mobile, you need to be aware that all of the homes are raised on stilts and there are quite a few steps to climb. Other than that, it was a beautiful, quiet, rustic island and the home was fantastic.

Well equipped house for a quiet getaway

  • 5 of 5

A great house with a well-equipped kitchen, comfortable beds, and centrally located on the island for access to the "club" (pools, tennis, etc), beach, or state park. Board games aplenty and beach books. A very nice island with ospreys everywhere and no cars (though it is not clear to me why everyone uses golf carts when there are such nice walks. . . )

I highly recommend the house. When little problems arose (a sprung door on arrival, a water system hiccup), the management company addressed them within minutes -- extremely attentive. The owner was very responsive to questions and there were no problems whatsoever.

The internet connect is a little slow, but you are not there for the internet. . .

Isle Be There Holiday

  • 5 of 5

We had a fantastic, relaxing vacation on North Captiva, and Isle Be There was a lovely place for a family get-together. The home description was spot-on, and the property is clean, well-maintained, and just a short walk (or golf cart ride) to the beach. I would definitely reserve the home again, and look forward to my next visit to paradise!

PEACEFUL BEAUTIFUL AND ADVENTEROUS - THE PERFECT VACATION

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at Isle Be There for 5 days in November and it may have been the best trip my family has ever taken! It was a relaxing and adventurous trip all in one! From taking a golf cart everywhere to the various beaches we found throughout the week and had all to ourselves to hiking through beautiful nature and finding our own way back to the pool bar overlooking the water that we stopped by after kayaking. We saw manatees, sunsets, seashells, and very few people each day. It really felt like we were on our own beautiful island. The house was spacious and setup nicely for 7 of us to sleep comfortably. I'm already planning my trip for next year!

About Margie Klueber

We visited North Captiva Island and were immediately charmed by its unique character. For us it was the perfect getaway from the hustle and bustle of the Northeast, Though we weren't quite sure whether our young adult children would be equally charmed, they, too fell in love with this island getaway.

Margie Klueber purchased this house in 2012
