Old Town 1 bed apartment located just off the Royal Mile and close to Castle

Our self catering Central Apartment , is situated right in the centre of things just off Edinburgh's Royal Mile in the Old Town.This is A great base to explore Scotland's capital city. The main attractions – The Castle is a 10 minute walk up the Mile and Holyrood is 10 minutes down. You do not need a car when based here. The flat comprises a comfortable lounge (with sofa bed bookable on request), a double bedroom with king size bed , modern bath room/shower and separate fully equipped kitchen. Ideally suited to 2 people the apartment is an excellent base, however with the sofa bed(extra charge) it can accommodate up to 3,for a short stay Please note the apartment is on the 3rd floor in a traditional old tenement building and not in a modern block and there is not a lift(elevator) ,free complimentary wifi

Included in the price are all taxes, electricity, bed linen, towels, internet broadband access and a welcome basket with , tea, coffee, milk, sugar, biscuits

Check in from 2.30pm -9.30pm please check if an earlier arrival time is required

check out by 10.15am and luggage must be taken (left luggage at Waverley station chargeable)

an extra night can be booked if a very early check in or late departure is required

A refundable damage deposit of £100.00 is required

Fantastic apartment right in the heart of everything Edinburgh has to offer...great communication and seemless check in/check out. The apartment is big and immaculate, and it made our stay in Edinburgh all the more enjoyable......if you want to stay in Edinburgh, do yourself a favour and check in with Tony and Jayne and you will not be dissapointed. Fantastic location, Clean and comfortable.

If you can handle the 3 flights of stairs, book it. The location is ideal. The apartment is very well kept and had everything we needed. The furniture and bed are comfortable, although my daughter decided that the sleeper sofa mattress worked better on the floor.

Lovely flat in Edinburgh

My husband and i enjoyed our stay at the flat. All of the rooms in the flat were tidy and very inviting. The bathroom was such a nice surprise since most bathrooms in the UK are on the small side. This bathroom had lots of room. The location was great just down the hill from the Royal Mile. The stair were a bit intimidating but we made it up. This really was not a problem since in your description you do point out that it is on the third floor.

Right in the middle of Edinburgh

This is a great appartment, located in the centre of Edinburgh and ideal for getting the most out of this wonderful city. The entrance and stairs are a little ominous, but definitely do able. The appartment is nicely decorated, comfortable and has absolutely everything you might need. It is within walking distance of trains, trams, buses, and anything a visitor to this great town could need. The nearby services restaurants, supermarkets, delis and a fantastic fish and chip shop you will want for nothing! Jayne is great and went out of her way to make us feel welcome. We will be renting this apartment again upon our return!

Great location!

My friend and I stayed at this flat for a long weekend. The location was great. 1/2 block from the Royal Mile makes this an ideal location to explore both New Town and Old Town Edinburgh. Everything you need is within walking distance including the train station (though you do have to scale a largish hill with your luggage). The flat was clean and just as described. Plenty of space for the two of us, could easily accommodate 4 people.

Too many city issues

While the flat is very well located and basically well appointed, we cannot recommend it for the following reasons:

1. The hallway is dark, and dirty in an impersonal, challenging urban setting. Knowing it is 4 floors up with no lift does not change the reality the setting presents: It just does not feel safe, even with an involved key system which itself is not user friendly.

2. There is a major concern if there happened to be a fire.

3.The directions for the washing machine need to be much clearer.

4. The TV was not plugged in and the directions were inaccurate.

5. There was little personal contact with the owner, who we think is a real estate agent as opposed to a concerned

hostess. Customer service does not seem to be high on her list.

We are sure there are better, more appropriate flats in Edinburgh.

Owner's Response: Hi Steve, thank you for taking time to write to us Blair st is in the old town and a typical Edinburgh old tenement 3 floors( no lift) So not a modern purpose built holiday condo, The 3 floors can be a challenge if you’re not used to climbing stairs it does has 24 hrs lighting and is a listed building and was checked by the fire service when the exterior got refurbished ( but not the painting on the inside of the building ) I have been owner/ manager since 2006 as the previous reviews state so not a distant real estate person After your self check in, the keys were collected from key lock box ( which seems to suit most guests for arrival times ) and the door locks are normal uk door locks , I contacted you to check you had arrived safely and indeed we spoke for 5 mins on the phone as well as texts ,the washer /dryer is a combination all in one machine(and just meant for small loads) and the makers instructions were there for you though you did work them out in the end The tv was working fine on the arrival day and hand set supplied and also you had the complementary wifi If you had asked for me to visit you for a chat I would have been glad to but as we spoke on the phone I also suggested you put on the bathroom heated towel rail also , you did not say you had any problems for me to be concerned about ,indeed you had no problems with the flat interior or cleanliness and facilities, we put milk in fridge on arrival , a welcome basket to make a cup of tea there , king size bed, plenty towels and the flat is warm flat I agree with you the communal stair could do with a paint but is quite safe with everyday folk living in the building

Great spot in a great location

Great flat right in the heart of Edinburgh, half a block from the Royal Mile. Apartment was perfect for us: full kitchen amenities, fast wifi, and short walks to everything you might want to see and dine at. Would stay here again and again!
