1Bedroom /1 Bathroom Guesthouse-Sleeps 2
A newly-built guesthouse with the feel of the Old West.
We are located far enough out of Alpine to give you a rural feel, but in reality being just minutes from downtown, this studio guesthouse gives you the best of both worlds. This is our guesthouse, and sits approximately 30 feet from our house. The patio shown is part of our house. However, we are very respectful of your privacy, and all of the facilities are yours to use during your stay.
Sit out on the large covered porch and enjoy watching the quail and other wildlife, or visit with our own assortment of livestock. We are pet-friendly, and can even board horses for a small fee.
After you have enjoyed your day, relax around a fire in the fire pit, or soak in the hot tub while watching the sky for shooting stars and satellites. If you feel like cooking outside, there is a gas grill available, or you can BBQ over the fire in the fire pit.
Inside the guesthouse, you will experience the warmth of rustic and the comfort of modern from the custom-built cedar furniture and cabinetry to the knotty-pine vaulted ceiling, along with the wall of windows opening onto a fantastic view of Alpine against the mountains. The kitchen has a full-size refrigerator, sink, cook-top, and pantry. It is equipped with a microwave, toaster oven, automatic coffee-maker, toaster, and cooking utensils.
The queen-size custom-built bed has plenty of storage space under it in case you want to stay awhile.
The television is a 32-inch flat screen with satellite service and a DVD player.
The guesthouse is climate-controlled with a whisper-quiet heating and cooling system.
The modern, spacious bathroom includes a large walk-in shower, and a vanity with plenty of counter space. There is also a hair dryer, and an iron and ironing board.
If we are booked, or you are looking for something a little bigger, please check out our sister property, listing #923603.
Come stay outside the box, and experience the true West Texas.

A Great Place to Stay while in Alpine / Davis Mountain Area
We spent over a week in Lisa's and Steve's guesthouse. They are very welcoming, friendly and interesting to talk to. A clean, well equipped, comfortable space to relax, inside and on the patio. An outstanding place for birding, star gazing and exploring the area. Lisa's goats, chickens, calves, horse and dog all entertaining to watch. We brought our dog on the trip, she was fascinated by Lisa's animals. Whenever we come back to the Alpine area, there will be no need to look anywhere else to stay. Lisa and Steve, thank you for a wonderful stay.
Amazing night under the stars!
Celebrating a friend’s birthday and spent a night after Big Bend. Such a treat as we toured the town of Alpine. Beautiful night in their room made of homemade furniture, and lovely hosts! Enjoyed finishing the night under the stars. Highly recommend!!
Cozy, clean and comfortable!
The property was impeccable from the landscape to the animal care. The spacious room was welcoming and there is keen attention to detail. Loved the bathroom tile work! Lisa and her husband are fabulous hosts!
Very cozy, great scenic and cute animals.
I loved my stay, everything was perfect. My favorite part was hanging with the farm animals and hot tubbing at night.
I would definitely stay again when I’m in the area.
We enjoyed our stay so much. It was exactly as described. I can highly recommend to anyone. Our sweet dog Sophia enjoyed meeting the goats, chickens and horse.
Very nice. It was a quiet get away and we were able to relax when we weren't sightseeing. Lisa and Steve have created a great little sanctuary. Will recommend this place to friends.
Located on the Fort Davis Hwy., we are just minutes away from downtown Alpine, Sul Ross University, restaurants, and shopping, including boutique art galleries and gift shops. Alpine is the gateway to Big Bend National Park, along with historic mining towns such as Terlingua(famous for its annual Chili Cookoff) and the bordertown of Lajitas with its championship golf course. To the west of Alpine is Marfa, filled with many historic buildings and a growing art community. In between Alpine and Marfa is the famous Marfa Lights visitors' center. North on the Fort Davis Hwy., along the Texas Mountain Trail, is the Chihuahuan Desert Research Institute, which features native plants of the Chihuahuan Desert located in a gorgeous canyon setting. Further down the road is the historic town of Fort Davis, just 20 minutes from us. While there, you can explore the actual Fort Davis, which is a National Historic Site. Fort Davis is filled with charming shops and restaurants that add to its Western flair. A little further up the road is the McDonald Observatory, where you can attend their famous Star Parties, or just take a tour. The Fort Davis Highway is used by both bicyclists and motorcyclists as a year-round scenic ride. There are so many activities to enjoy in this area, and we are located right in the heart of it all.
