A newly-built guesthouse with the feel of the Old West.
We are located far enough out of Alpine to give you a rural feel, but in reality being just minutes from downtown, this studio guesthouse gives you the best of both worlds.
Sit out on the large covered porch and enjoy watching the quail and other wildlife, or visit with our own assortment of livestock. We are pet-friendly, and can even board horses for a small fee.
After you have enjoyed your day, relax around a fire in the fire pit, or soak in the hot tub while watching the sky for shooting stars and satellites. If you feel like cooking outside, there is a gas grill available, or you can BBQ over the fire in the fire pit.
Inside the guesthouse, you will experience the warmth of rustic and the comfort of modern from the custom-built cedar furniture and cabinetry to the knotty-pine vaulted ceiling, along with the wall of windows opening onto a fantastic view of Alpine against the mountains. The kitchen has a full-size refrigerator, sink, cook-top, and pantry. It is equipped with a microwave, toaster oven, automatic coffee-maker, toaster, and cooking utensils.
The queen-size custom-built bed has plenty of storage space under it in case you want to stay awhile.
The television is a 32-inch flat screen with satellite service and a DVD player.
The guesthouse is climate-controlled with a whisper-quiet heating and cooling system.
The modern, spacious bathroom includes a large walk-in shower, and a vanity with plenty of counter space. There is also a hair dryer, and an iron and ironing board.
If we are booked, or you are looking for something a little bigger, please check out our sister property, listing #923603.
Come stay outside the box, and experience the true West Texas.
My husband and I stayed here on are way to Indian Lodge for our anniversary. This place was great. Home away from home. It was cozy, but easily large enough for the two of us. We cooked dinner and breakfast, and the kitchen and furnishings were very useful. The complimentary wine and fresh eggs were a delicious and appreciated bonus! We enjoyed the peacocks, chickens, horse and goats. At night my husband and I sat out on the patio and enjoyed the stars in the night sky. Lisa was very friendly and made us feel very welcomed. We would like to go back for a longer stay!
Clean room, comfortable bed, hot tub, plus fresh eggs and wine made me a hero to my wife for choosing this place. Perfect ending to a great trip around the greater Big Bend area. Also, they get it with no extra fees.
This casita is perfect for a couple that likes all the amenities of a home. The mini kitchen was stocked with basic pantry items and the hostess left a bottle of wine and a dozen fresh eggs in the fridge. Bed slept great. Oversized tiled shower. No bathtub, but there is a hot tub outside. The landscaping was nice and the view of the sunsets and nearby mountains was fantastic.
We celebrated our #30 Anniv at Lisa & Steve's newly constructed retreat. This beautiful area of Texas was a great location for our day trips to Fort Davis, McDonald Observatory & Big Bend. We looked forward to returning after our daily adventure to a charming, relaxed setting w/hot tub. They couldn't have been more accommodating and topped it off with fresh eggs! Can't wait to come back and see the Gameroom they're working on.
Located on the Fort Davis Hwy., we are just minutes away from downtown Alpine, Sul Ross University, restaurants, and shopping, including boutique art galleries and gift shops. Alpine is the gateway to Big Bend National Park, along with historic mining towns such as Terlingua(famous for its annual Chili Cookoff) and the bordertown of Lajitas with its championship golf course. To the west of Alpine is Marfa, filled with many historic buildings and a growing art community. In between Alpine and Marfa is the famous Marfa Lights visitors' center. North on the Fort Davis Hwy., along the Texas Mountain Trail, is the Chihuahuan Desert Research Institute, which features native plants of the Chihuahuan Desert located in a gorgeous canyon setting. Further down the road is the historic town of Fort Davis, just 20 minutes from us. While there, you can explore the actual Fort Davis, which is a National Historic Site. Fort Davis is filled with charming shops and restaurants that add to its Western flair. A little further up the road is the McDonald Observatory, where you can attend their famous Star Parties, or just take a tour. The Fort Davis Highway is used by both bicyclists and motorcyclists as a year-round scenic ride. There are so many activities to enjoy in this area, and we are located right in the heart of it all.
