Always wanted a place for family and friends where outdoor activities abound. Love Utah and it's fabulous National Parks
John Marsala purchased this house in 2011
At Buffalo Ridge, you can truly get away from it all. The peace and beauty of this location is without equal. From the house, you can walk into Zion. The Grand Canyon is a 2.5 hour drive, Bryce a 75 minute drive, many other, off the track, State Parks are also close.
Springdale has become VERY crowded as the popularity of Zion has increased. During the busy months, April thru October, the parking lot at the West/Springdale entrance becomes full. People are directed to park in town!!
The advantages of being on the East side are:
1. Avoiding the crowds in Springdale
2. Having easy access to drive to Springdale for dinner; a wonderful 30 minutes drive
through the park!
3. Having easy access to Kanab, another beautiful drive of 35 minutes in the opposite direction. Kanab has the best restaurant in the area.
4. Easy access to Bryce. It is only a 75 minute drive from the house.
5. Easy access to the off-trail hiking of the East/high desert side of the park where you can hike down any of the numerous washes. You can explore areas where few others go!!
Buffalo Ridge is a beautiful home. We have chosen furnishing and conveniences to please the most discriminating tastes.
You can really "get away from it all". My partner and I kept commenting on how quiet and peaceful our stay at Buffalo Ridge was. The way the house is situated on the property gives you total privacy; the windows were open all the time!
Very unique place to stay. Right next to Zion national park. You can hike into the park from the development. Plus the location is about an hour or less from other outstanding natural attractions. The house is pleasant and clean...no issues. We had a wonderful time. Perfect location. All members of the family had an outstanding time age 5 to 65
Thank you John for making our first stay in Zion so easy. We went to run the Zion half marathon and your house and fantastic notes made our event easier, but also what to do with the rest of our time in Zion. We traveled with out family of 9 and your property and careful details from where to shop and must see hikes, really helped when making decisions for our family. Your house is beautiful and I would definitely stay here again! We loved Zion and want look forward to another visit. Thanks for all the care and personalization you put into your house and your fantastic information you give to your renters!
Fabulous home with everything you need to make your family vacation perfect!
John's home is so well appointed and comfortable. Beautiful home and location!
We loved it!!!
Great location just outside of Zion's east gate. Very comfortable and clean with great amenities. Loved our week-long stay here.
The house was just right for our hiking vacation for 5. It was very clean, nicely laid out, beautifully furnished and a great location. There is adequate space so we could be together and have private spaces when desired. Every bedroom has its own bathroom. The hot-tub got use each night after our hikes and the kitchen was very functional. We used the washer and dryer at the end of the trip so our suitcases wouldn't be too stinky. We didn't use the clubhouse facility...not much happening there in March.
The house is close enough to Zion National park to visit each day and also far enough away to get away from the crowds. Since most of us have been to Zion before, we did one classic Angel's Landing hike and encounters the crowds. The rest of the 4 days, we explored all of the other great sites in the area instead.
I would definitely recommend staying here.
We stayed for a family Thanksgiving. There was plenty of seating with a large dining table that seats 8, a game table that seats 4 and 2 barstools. The kitchen was well equipped, the property was clean and cozy. The oven only has one rack, which was a challenge for our Thanksgiving dinner preparations. I informed the owner and he said he will get a second rack. The 3 bedrooms each have a beautiful, appointed bathroom. The beds are comfortable. Our stay was relaxing. We enjoyed the fireplace, the hot tub and roasting marshmallows over the fire. It was exciting to see deer everywhere, including the back yard, where 2 bucks were clashing antlers. We saw wild turkeys, mountain goats, buffalo and a golden eagle eating a deer carcass on the side of the road. There are games provided and 3 televisions, one in the family room, and one in 2 of the 3 bedrooms. There is a twin blow-up mattress, which we sprawled on in front of the fire to watch tv as a family. We did have one major concern upon arriving, the hot water was rancid smelling. I contacted the owner, who responded promptly and was very helpful. Apparently, the water had been sitting stagnant for a few weeks and the minerals in the water had settled in the hot water heaters. We turned on all the faucets, including the exterior spigots, opened the windows to ventilate the smell, and within a short time the problem was resolved. Overall, we had a delightful stay, eating, hiking and spending quality time in a cozy mountain getaway on Buffalo Ridge. Don't forget the marshmallows and roasting sticks.
