* NOTE - Our rate is based on $USD 90.00 per night, $USD 550.00 per week, $USD 1970.00 per month. *
* NOTE - our other suite, Casa Canuck Suite B (457116), has two additional windows overlooking the forest, and a larger covered deck. *
Casa Canuck has an amazing combination of proximity, seclusion and complimentary conveniences that other rentals just don't have! Located in West End, on the water at Mangrove Bight, you have only a short walk to the lively center of West End, or to some of the best snorkeling in the world at Half Moon Bay. At home, you can unwind in the quiet and peaceful setting of a tropical oasis, watching the hummingbirds, butterflies, geckos, and other wildlife.
You will be able to relax in your suite or on your private deck overlooking the mangroves and jungle greenery. You can also enjoy direct water access or an evening under the stars on Mangrove Bight from our private dock, and even arrange to be picked up right from the dock for many water activities.
A one-minute walk gets you onto the newly paved West End road where you can find the many dive shops, fishing charters, dining options, shops and nightlife that unique West End offers. We are also ideally located for people looking for accomodations while completing dive courses. Check out EcoDivers and Coconut Tree Divers, both within 2 blocks of home.
We live upstairs full-time, so we are close by if you need anything, but we fully respect our guests' privacy. We are regular friendly people and would also enjoy sharing a visit and a beverage on the dock if you like!
During our time living here, we have learned about good restaurants, things to do, places to go and people that can help you with your Roatan vacation 'bucket list'. Let us know what you are interested in, and we will do our best to get you in contact with the right people.
Each of our two suites has a queen bed, full bath, private east-side deck, shared west-side deck, ceiling fans, flat-screen cable TV, internet, 2-burner cooktop, microwave, toaster oven, refrigerator, coffee maker, toaster, dishes, water dispenser and drinking water, bistro table and chairs and AC. There is a nice hammock and two zero-G recliner lawn chairs on your private deck, and night security on the property. We also have a propane BBQ/grill for guest use.
Our guests' comfort and relaxation is our main priority! We want your stay to be restful and easy, so we have thought of the little conveniences for you. Coffee? Salt and Pepper? Cold beverages in the fridge when you arrive? We thought of that! Flashlight? Umbrellas? Clothesline? We thought of that, too. Liquid Tide for hand washables? Hangers? Laundry basket? You bet. Scissors? Baggies? Can opener? Yes, even those! Wine glasses? Corkscrew? Candles? Definitely. There is an extra rod in the shower for hanging bathing suits, etc, free snorkel gear for you to borrow, free access to kayaks, and a local cell phone for you to use while you are here. Personal laundry can be arranged for a fee, and guests staying more than 12 days receive complimentary weekly maid service. 'Yes, we thought of that!' And if we didn't, please let us know!
AIRPORT / FERRY PICKUP: Let us know your arrival details and we will be at the airport or ferry to pick you up. We include a cold beer or soda or water (let us know your preference), a stop at the supermarket if you wish, and a comfortable short ride to Casa Canuck. Pickup and return is FREE for all of our guests.
We have a generator and live on-site, so you will still have a working water system and fridge (once we start the generator) if the power goes out.
Please, no smoking in or near the building. We love animals, but guests must not bring pets. We love children, too, but our suites are not suitable for youngsters. And if you enjoy other music besides the birds, the breeze, the boats and the seas, we ask that you keep your volume low. (Unless it is Salsa music, in which case you just need to invite us to the party!)
Getting Here - Often you will have no other choice, but try to avoid arriving or departing between 10 am and 2:00 pm on Saturdays. Our little airport is almost beyond capacity during those times and lines are long. We have found better schedules (and prices) by travelling to San Pedro Sula (SAP) and then using CM Airlines to hop from there to Roatan. CM is very good (Sosa is not nearly as good, FYI).
