End Unit Townhouse with 3 BR, 2BA, Large Deck, Fenced Back Yard & Fire Pit
About Edward Brown
With roots in South Carolina, we have spent most of our careers outside the South. Ed was in the military and Mary taught at the elementary school level. We have vacationed on the South Carolina coast for many decades. When we discovered Beaufort and the sea islands, we knew this was the place. We are eager to be back and bought this townhouse as a vacation home. For now, we are offering our vacation home to others.
Edward Brown purchased this Townhouse in 2012
Why Edward Brown chose Historic District
For several summers, we visited the Beaufort area and stayed in different locations (e.g., Ladys Island, Port Royal, Parris Island Gateway area, Pigeon Point, and near downtown.) We discovered that nothing beats the convenience and simplicity of being so close to downtown and the waterfront. When crowded events occur along the waterfront, we never have to worry about parking (or a designated driver ). Shopping, restaurants, strolling the marina, the public library, and the Post Office are all just a few blocks away. You might be able to avoid driving all week, except for all the adventures waiting in the surrounding South Carolina Sea Islands. For day trips, try locations such as Charleston, Savannah, or Hilton Head. If you're going towards Charleston, we really enjoyed the Charleston Tea Plantation; it was fun taking the tour and learning how tea is grown and produced.
What makes this Townhouse unique
Our townhouse is an end unit which we particularly like. With windows on the side, the unit has a more spacious feel with lots of light. The raised deck is our favorite space because it is a natural extension of the living space and because the tall lattice fence and trees give a real feeling of privacy. In addition, the back yard (56 x 30 ft) is fully enclosed. The neighborhood is very quiet. Surrounded by churches (Anglican, Presbyterian, Baptist), Sunday morning is the only time when it's busy. During the week, the only interruptions are the hourly church bells from St Helena's Anglican Church (but only during the day.)
No smoking inside. Smoking outside only.

Everything and more
We just loved everything about this place. We rented this home to be close to our son for graduation from Marine boot camp and it just worked out amazing. It was warm and inviting and just felt so much like a dream coming true. They have so much all set up and ready to go for you from your first step in the house. It’s a great location from the historic downtown and there is so much for you to do that you will want to come back and rent this place again and again with just a short drive to the ocean. I would highly recommend everyone to come here and stay for a vacation getaway. I hope we get another chance to come back close to here again because this will be my first choice to stay at.
The townhouse was in a perfect location for a short walk to the little downtown shops and restaurants, and was stocked with lots of little things that might be forgotten on a trip, like extra soap and kitchen supplies. Our host was nice and even had memberships for some of the local attractions available. A very nice place to stay for the weekend. The only negative I can think of is after walking around the house in white socks I noticed the bottoms turning black, so a deeper scrub of the carpets wouldn't hurt, but everything else was very clean and the whole property smelled fresh. My mother who visited with us already wants to come back!
Easy check in/out, walking distance to downtown Beaufort, and quiet neighborhood. Great place.
Great place to stay!
This property is the perfect location from which to explore Beaufort and the islands. Downtown and waterfront are just a short walk away. The townhouse has all of the amenities we could have needed. Clean and very nicely decorated!
