Incredible experience - beautifully furnished home, and room for everyone!

  • 5 of 5

I want to go baaack! This place was incredible! There are so many words to describe what a great place this was for our family, but none of them quite do it justice. Seven of us stayed for a week in wonderful June Lake, including my three young children and my older parents. All of us were fully satisfied and so sad when it was time to finally leave!

The beautiful luxury home was furnished in the fashion of a log cabin with a native-american theme. The craftsmanship of this place is absolutely gorgeous, and it honestly seems like no expense was spared when it came to levels of comfort. Multiple AC/Heating units, automatic lights that turned on when we needed them, and even heated bathroom floors were just a few of the amenities that improved our quality of life here.

The rooms were huge. It honestly felt like there are three master bedrooms in this house. One of them has a giant jacuzzi which was a lot of fun, and all three of them have a high quality memory-foam mattress. The facility was super clean when we arrived, and every square inch of the place served as fully functional space (as opposed to things that look pretty but are useless).

The downstairs contained a wonderful living room and kitchen space with plenty of room for my family to all sit down together and enjoy coffee while my children ran around and played together. The kitchen was fully stocked with every sort of cookware that we needed. The sink was large, and water throughout the house warmed within a few seconds. The living room on the other side had a large TV with a full array of DVD's and a stock of family board games nearby.

Everything is child-proofed, and I was extremely relieved to find that even simple things like the corners of tables were rounded, light sockets were all covered, water didn't get scalding hot, carpets were well-padded, and big things a toddler might pull over were non-existent. They had multiple "pack-and-play" cribs as well as other things you might want for a kid-friendly stay, which were also high quality, and so I give them an A+ for thinking through everything I might need for my kids.

Outdoors were great as well. The yard was fully landscaped and blended nature with function very well. Bridges crossed over two pretty streams of water, and we even saw a deer crossing the yard!

The location was great as well. They are located right in the center of June Lake, which makes driving anywhere easy.

Definitely stay here. That is all :)

Lovely grounds

  • 3 of 5

The home is comfortable however the neighbor behind with pond is rude and nosy. I didn't appreciate being looked upon and reported to owner regarding my visit. We had friends and family stop by to visit whom were vacationing in June as well which was a problem apparently. I wouldn't stay again because felt uncomfortable and downstairs living area should have curtains for privacy due to neighbor. Otherwise the home is nice but for price was disappointing due to privacy.

Owner's Response: Thank you for staying with us and we’re disappointed that your stay didn’t meet your expectations. To your concerns: 1) When you summoned an ambulance to the property, our neighbor inquired about how he could help. Coming from a big city, it’s understandable how you might interpret his offer to help as being “nosy.” However, part of June Lake’s culture as a rural mountain community is that neighbors look out for one another. The neighbor you write about is a successful, retired businessman who has been summering in June Lake for over 40 years; I can assure you his attention is focused on caring for his wife and enjoying his grandkids, not the day-to-day business of our guests. 2) Our 3-car, 8-person maximum is clearly posted on our website, in the VRBO advertisement, and in the two confirmation emails we send you (one of which includes the code to access the house). Here is an excerpt from the confirmation email: "OCCUPANCY: The maximum number of guests allowed for a rental event is mandated by the county... As advertised, we maintain a strict 3-car and 8-guest maximum. This includes infants. No more than 10 individuals and 3 cars may be present on the property at any time." While we do all we can to accommodate our guests, we will not negotiate our compliance with the law. And, to be clear, your violation (of a 4th car) was not reported by a neighbor, but by a community member who drove by the chalet on his way to work. 3) You’re right, we don’t have curtains on every window downstairs. We have all-weather roll down blinds on the windows that don’t have curtains. These blinds insulate the house better than curtains and offer offer the potential for total blackout. We describe the use of the blinds in the guest manual, a copy of which is provided on the kitchen counter and in a link in the confirmation email we sent you. You also could have also called our texted us at any time. As our other guests can attest to, we’re generally very responsive.

Beautiful location and gorgeous home!!

  • 5 of 5

June Lake has ALWAYS been a second home to my family. Yosemite Gateway Chalet represents everything we love about this wonderful town! Even though it's right off the loop, you can barely hear the traffic. It's a spacious cabin with an amazing layout. We look forward to coming back again!

What a TREAT!!!

  • 5 of 5

Anyone who who gets to stay in this magnificent chalet is in for a real TREAT!!! The very best of the June Lake area is right here....not only a great location, but LUXURY galore! We did not want to leave this place! Two beautiful creeks flow on either side of the property, and everything in between is immaculately landscaped and maintained. The view of the mountains gave us pictures that are matchless to any others. Don't look any further is this amazing lodge is available on your dates!

Beautiful house, beautiful area

  • 5 of 5

Three couples stayed for long weekend and had a great time. Fabulous nearby hiking followed by a soak in the hot tub is hard to beat. The lodge is authentic log construction and the views out the back are spectacular.

Exceeded every expectation

  • 5 of 5

From the views out the bedroom windows to the fabulous hot tub and comfy beds, this is the best place to stay for any reason. We loved being central to June Lake, Parker Lake, Mono Lake and all the trails as well. What a memorable stay with friends and looking forward to going back!
