Great Pre-Honeymoon, Perfect Charleston Location

We got married (we live near Atlanta) a few days before the big Eclipse, and wanted to take a mini-honeymoon, since we were taking a cruise in September. The totality was going to go through Charleston, and we looked at VRBO. We got a great deal at this location, for 2 nights right during the eclipse. It was perfect.

The rooms are located right in the middle of downtown Charleston. We were able to park in their recommended public parking deck right next door, leave our car there, and walk or Uber to anywhere we wanted to go in downtown. You are 90 seconds from several great restaurants, bars and stores. A block or two away from other great locations. Smack dab in the middle of everything. And on your way home at night you can stop and get a great ice cream sandwich right next door.

The suite we stayed in was awesome. Nice little kitchen and living room area, and a very charming bedroom. Amazing bathroom, with a huge tub, nice shower, Jacuzzi jets.

Our only regret was we didn't stay longer. We definitely plan on coming back and staying longer!

Great location

The location of Matt''s place was perfect. In between King St and Meeting St. Close to shopping and restaurants and about 1/2 mile walk to historic locations. We didn't need a car and basically walked everywhere, even to the ferry for the ride to Ft Sumter was close enough to walk to. The apartment was clean but def looked better in the pictures. The TV is about the size of a computer screen. Granted we weren't there to sit around and watch tv on a vacation but there was some down time due to the storms. The thing that ruined it for me was the overwhelming smell of BBQ smoke. Not BBQ but the smoke from a meat smoker from the restaurant on the 1st floor. It had embedded our nostrils and clothing. All our clothes whether worn or unworn had to be cleaned when we got home. My husband had his Cpap machine and we had to replace the hose and mask because we couldn't clean the smell out. The bed was comfortable, the airconditioning was strong and cold. The elevator Which is you're only way up to the apt takes over a minute to go 3 floors, if your ok spending the time in a small box with no air then it's not that bad which we timed. The cost for this place 3 days taxes and fees and cleaning was over $700. I just wish we stayed in a hotel. I did leave 3 dishes in the sink,some food in the fridge and our bag of garbage in the pail. Not sure if I should have cleaned everything before we left for our flight at 5:30 am but I figured if I had to pay $100 fee for cleaning then I wanted my money's worth. I'm sure Matt is a nice guy. Most times he responded pretty quickly to texts but he did not respond to my text the morning we left when I told him I was disappointed about how bad the smell of smoke was.

First time in Charleston

I have never booked through VRBO before so this was brand new to us. We picked the Charleston Suite. We found parking at the parkade was no problem. The elevator is charming, but small and travels at a leisurely pace. It's exactly what I would expect from looking at the building from the outside. The suite is cute and comfortable and clean. It was exactly as shown in the pictures. The bed was king size and comfortable. The suite was quiet and we didn't hear any noise from the other suites or outside. Sticky Fingers was great for wings and beer. We walked everywhere. We had dinner at Eli's Table and it was AMAZING! The escargot and Duck and waffles were to die for. We will be returning to Charleston and will definitely stay here again. Matt was great to deal with and would recommend him and these suites.

Location, Location, Location!

By far the best location we've stayed in Charleston. Parking is 30 seconds away, and King Street and the City Market are both a 1-minute walk away. Matt was super easy to deal with, and the room was exactly as shown in the photos. We plan to stay here each time we visit Charleston. You're in the middle of everything. Great to be able to head back to the room for a 1 hour break in the middle of walking all over. Nice privacy compared to other places we've stayed.
