Pear Tree Barn is a wonderful example of a traditional detached property that has been cleverly transformed to create a beautiful, stylish holiday retreat for two. It is a superb choice for couples looking for that romantic getaway and for spending precious time together in quality surroundings. Striking colours throughout of red and black have been married with quality and carefully chosen accessories to create a stylish, contemporary look.
The property was as described and well designed. However, as the skylight in the bedroom didn't open it was difficult to ventilate the property sufficiently and there was a slight damp smell. Also, from the photos it was not clear that the Barn is situated between a house and a cement wall, close to a main road and not with a particularly nice view. The wifi worked intermittently but the signal was not always reliable.
The gentleman living in the adjescent Farmhouse was very friendly but we didn't meet the owners. The complementary bottle of wine and ice cream were much appreciated!

Stayed at Pear Tree Barn for a weekend in July. It was a lovely quaint little place, and the owners have definitely made use of a small space. Very clean and modern and a perfect, quiet location. Lots of Lake District towns within 30mins of driving and lovely scenic routes. Definitely worth a stay and great for couples who are after time away. However, I would have picked an oven over a washing machine as this would have came in useful but plenty of good pubs around the lakes to eat at!

We had a lovely short break visiting the Lake District staying in this cottage, small but almost perfectly formed and in a fantastic location for easy access to everything.
We would happily stay here again; although it would have been useful to have had some additional notes on the website about how to find it (we had to park in the nearby hotel car park and have a little wander as the address didn't actually have a road name) and how to get the key.
The actual cottage itself was lovely and very well laid out, but again, some notes on how to use certain things would be useful - the shower and hot water both needed to be switched on and we weren't sure about wi-fi access. Having said that, we didn't ask the owner as we were able to use a BT hot-spot; he was just next door however and we did bump into him when we arrived so I think he would be very easy to contact and ask questions and seemed very friendly.
Pear Tree Barn is situated 1 mile from junction 36 of the M6,and just 6 miles south of the market town of Kendal.
It is ideally placed for sampling the delights of the Lake District National Park and the Yorkshire Dales. Kendal, also known as the gateway to the lakes has a super selection of shops, bars and restaurants. The property is situated within a short walk of the popular Crooklands Hotel which offers both bar meals and an a la carte menu. The village of Endmoor is only half a mile away and has a local shop and a bakery. There are a good selection of walks from the door including the canal path and a scenic river walk.
