Our home is a one of a kind special place. It is as comfortable as it is beautiful. It’s like a fairy tale cottage only it is real. This is a place for cherished family memories to be made. Once you arrive you will never want to leave.
When my wife and I first found this place, it literally took less than fifteen seconds on the property before I was frantically calling the previous owner telling him that we would take it. One hundred and eighty degree view from just about every room. Wrap around porch. Stairs down to beach twenty five feet away. Sunsets every night. Eagles in the trees daily. Every thing you see out the window is either water or a State Park. When you arrive, you will see why I call it Paradise!
We had a lovely stay at this cabin, it is as charming as the pictures represent. It is full of lovely furnishings and the fir window trim and pine floors are gorgeous. The porch is so inviting even though it was cold when we were there. It is right on the water and we were able to take beach walks each day, go to LaConner to explore and drive up Chuckanut to Bellingham. The owner is easy to work with and told us to make ourselves at home which we did. I also appreciated that we could bring our cat. It feels like someone lives there and they just left for the weekend, complete with a full pantry and overflowing cupboards and drawers. We didn't mind because we liked the homeyness of it but just know that in advance in case you are looking for something that feels a little less personal. The only things I would have wished for was different (more) silverware and curtains on the bedroom window and bathroom upstairs. It felt a little creepy to change in full view of the houses next door. Be prepared to wash all your linen before you leave. it is the first time I have rented a house where that is required and for the amount we paid per night it was surprising but I knew it going in so we just planned our time accordingly. I'd happily rent again- it was a warm and wonderful place to gather our families which consisted of four adults and four grown children. I'd highly recommend going to Anelia's in LaConner for lunch or dinner. It's terrific!
This is a delightful, well appointed, and comfortable home. The owner, Ken, was readily available by phone and was easy and pleasant to work with.
This house sits right on that water and the scenery is spectacular. We enjoyed morning coffee on the porch and watched an eagle swooping and hunting right in front of the property.
We are hoping to return again!
We came here following our daughters graduation from Bastyr. We had a grand time hiking hanging out and seeing the Orcas in Anacortes!
The place is awesome! Thank you!
Just came back from an incredible stay at Ken’s cabin! We were there for 2 nights and we had an amazing time. We appreciated every detail of this wonderful cabin, it was so relaxing, quiet, very clean and the views are breath taking. This cabin is as cozy as it gets – the beds are incredible, very comfortable. The wrap around patio was gorgeous; we sat outside and played cards until the sunset. We had rain the days that we were there but that didn’t hinder the properties beauty at all. When the sun poked out one afternoon we enjoyed relaxing naps and a bottle of wine on the lower patio. Each night we built fires in the home – one night we even made s’mores inside. We had plans to get out and explore the nearby towns but once we got there we didn’t want to leave the cabin. We ventured into La Conner and ate a Calico Cupboard twice; it was one of the Ken’s recommendations. We had breakfast and lunch – they were both incredible. We had burgers at Dads Diner a Go Go in Anacortes – best burger I have ever had.
This place is an absolute gem and Ken was so pleasant to deal with - I can’t wait to go back!
What a lovely, wonderful trip! This was one of the most fantastic rentals we've ever stayed in (and we've stayed in a whole lot of places...). We really loved it. Beds and bedding were awesome, kitchen was a delight to cook in. Wrap around porch and views were outstanding. Plenty of seating both inside and out. Immaculately clean. So much attention to the little details. Pictures do not do the place justice.
We were a group of 9: Two families with kids aged newborn, 6, 11 & 14, plus our 70 year old mom/grandma. This house was a great set up for all the various ages, interests and activity levels. We caught 13 crab, played on the beach, had lovely misty mornings enjoying the view. We lost hours visiting with one another on the porch while the kids turned rocks on the beach hunting for little crabs. We also saw seals and sea otters and bald eagles. We made it to Nell Thorn for lunch in La Conner one day and went to Bow Edison for baked treats another. We went whale watching and did a guided salmon fishing trip on the river (caught 4 pinks & a 21 lb king!) But mostly we just enjoyed the view and the beach and each others company.
The location was just what we were hoping for: a short drive from Seattle and all the experience the San Juan's can offer, but without having to deal with August Ferry lines. The 4 days were so quintessentially NorthWest. The only way to make it better would have been to stay longer. Thanks Ken. You've got a really special place. Awesome. Awesome. Awesome.
If you want to have a special, memorable time, this is the place. We had my 60th birthday party and enjoyed every minute of the week. Plenty of room for everyone - lots to do in the area. The home - so special and welcoming. Ken is wonderful to deal with and very helpful. I would highly recommend this to anyone. One last thing, beds are so comfortable, linens gorgeous...
