A restored traditional top floor 83m2 apartment with 2 large terraces 65m2 and magnificent views. Located in the heart of the historical centre of Vejer de la Frontera just off of the Plaza España and surrounded by a variety of excellent restaurants. There is one master suite with a double bed and a smaller bedroom with two single beds. A living room with 3 sofas, 2 of them easily convert to individual beds. There are two flat screen TV's, one DVD player and CD player. A spacious fully equipped kitchen/dining area that comfortably sits 6. Off the kitchen there is a small utility room that has a washer and leads to 2 large terraces, including furniture; table, sun umbrella, chairs, sun chairs, built in barbecue and magnificent 360 views including Morocco.
Please note: This place is our 2nd home, much more to us than a business, we use it as such and expect that guests act respectfully in our family home. Please treat it with care. Thank you and very much appreciated, Josh and Regina
Had a great time, everything was walking distance and the locals very friendly restaurants superb
Definitely recommend
We have just returned from spending two weeks in this fantastic apartment. It was beautifully furnished and equipped and I loved the wall hangings and lights. The use of wifi was extremely useful and it worked well. We tended to use the top terrace with a warm breeze and wonderful views over to Tangier on a clear day.
The locals made us extremely welcome and we loved exploring the narrow streets and surrounding area – Cadiz, Jerez and Barbate. For our first week the town was still very buzzy with buskers entertaining us at all times of day but it was much quieter the second week, restaurants had started to cut back their hours, there were fewer tourists about and it was much cooler.
For ease of parking we would recommend the free area by the Tourist Information Centre with a 5-10 minute walk uphill to the apartment.
Thank you Josh for sharing your wonderful apartment and thank you to Puri who welcomed us.
This is a wonderful place to stay. The rooms are cool and well decorated. Well equipped kitchen. The terraces are to die for. Friendly owner and local colleague. Delighted with our stay!
We had a great time here and loved the flat as well as the town. The location in the Plaza de Espana is really lovely, the flat is well equipped and more than fulfilled our needs. The terraces are great (but overlooked by tourists visiting the ramparts opposite). A few comments to add to that said by previous reviewers:
If you don't like hair raising ascents as indicated by Kristi, take the second turning up to Vejer coming from Tarifa rather than the first. It is much easier. Being in the centre of town there is no parking but it is easy to stop to dump bags off and pick them up again. There is a pay car park just round the back in Calle Corredera but it is very expensive. On some days we were lucky enough to be able to park a bit further down on the same road, otherwise there is a big parking lot off Calle los Remedios about 10 mins walk. Both these options are free. As for WiFi, the town service is not expensive and fine for emails and general browsing but not for heavy streaming.
We made several trips out to Gibraltar, Tarifa, Jerez, Cape Trafalgar (I always wondered where the battle took place), various villages. We also made a day trip to Tangier, but to be honest the only point in doing that is to be able to tick off that you have been to Morocco.
Overall highly recommended.
There is absolutely nothing not to love about this stunning apartment! It's spacious with every amenity you could ask for...clean modern bathrooms, spacious bedrooms, large kitchen/dining room, two spectacular rooftop terraces with 360 degree views of everything from the the ancient wall right next door, the towns central plaza & fountain to never ending views of the coastline.
With its fantastic location we were able to comfortably take two day trips, one to Barbate & a couple of smaller towns & one to Tarifa. For cautious drivers, the drive up and down the road climbing to Vejer is winding and narrow & takes some getting used to!
Josh was amazing and eager to help with arrangements and suggestions. Take his advice and eat in the lovely courtyard dining just across the street at Califa.
The key to the apartment door does take some serious finessing but it gets easier with experience.
We did miss not having wifi in the apartment but it was available at most cafe' s and restaurants in town.
I can only hope that we will have the opportunity to return to this beautiful town and stunning apartment someday!
We just had Christmas in this apartment and it was perfect. Spacious enough for the three of us - we even changed our plans for a night away so that we could maximise our time on the roof terrace! I slept like a log as it's very quiet and pitch black with the shutters closed. A lovely kitchen to cook in as well - we finished up cooking a lot as the layout of the kitchen is very conducive to communal cooking and hanging out. Little touches, like the beer fridge on the top terrace, was very welcome. Comfy beds, reliable internet connection, good hot showers (a hairdryer would have been handy for us baggage-limited Easyjet flyers) and the lovely Puri to welcome us made the trip perfect. We'll be coming back and have already recommended this apartment to our friends. Thanks again for a lovely experience!
Vejer de la Frontera is a jewel of an old Andalusian white village, partly surrounded by a moorish wall, located on a hill 200m above sea level. It is 10 mins. drive to the nearest beach, El Palmar, close to the historic Trafalgar. There are many other beautiful beaches in the area all with magnificent views of Morocco and excellent local seafood and fish restaurants. Zahara de los Atunes, Barbate, Caños de la Meca and Conil. There are also other varieties of excellent restaurants in the area.
Vejer is 35 mins. from Cadiz city, 35 mins. from Tarifa, where you can take a fast ferry (another 35 mins.) to Tanger, Morocco. There are 4 airports with in 2hrs. from Vejer. Malaga is 2hrs. Gibraltar is 1hr and 15mins. Jerez 45 mins. and Seville is 1hr. 30mins.
