About Bo

We are originally from Orange County. Having lived in California for more than 30 years, we enjoy the local mountains year round. We love to ski in the winter, and hike, bike and fish in the summer. Come breath the fresh air of Big Bear and enjoy the scenery!

Bo purchased this chalet in 2010

Why Bo chose Big Bear Lake

Our location is truly a special one. You won't find a more spectacular view of the mountains anywhere. We sit half way up the mountain, directly overlooking the majesty of the Bear Mountain Resort. The cabin elevation is 7400 ft. You can even see the lake from the dining room and loft!

What makes this chalet unique

Two spacious bedrooms, a large loft with two full bathrooms make this a very comfortable cabin. Theres a queen bed, a full bed, a twin upper bunk, a twin captains bed, a twin trundle bed, a twin log bed, a queen sleeper sofa and a queen front gate inflatable bed (that all together sleep 12 adults). The leather theatre seating in the living room offers two fully reclining chairs, a separate leather love seat sofa and a separate leather chair. The loft features air hockey, fooseball, internet and a PS3 video games with 3D display and wifi throughout. This mountain chalet is a place the entire family could enjoy! The large viewing deck is breathtaking offering vistas of the entire Bear Mountain resort and is a spectacular place to star gaze at night.

Amazing Time

  • 5 of 5

First time taking my family to Big Bear and this Cabin did not disappoint. Beautiful views and amazing decor that gave us that cabin comfy feel. It had everything you would need to preparing a meal, games for the kids or watching movies. Cabin was also very clean and the owner was a pleasure to deal with. The location of the Cabin is great close to the Village, restaurants, and Snow play which was a short distant away which made it very convenient for all of us to go eat and have some fun. The grounds of the cabin had plenty of snow for the kids to go sledding, make a snow man and have snow ball fights. We will definitely be returning.

Thanksgiving Snow

  • 5 of 5

I rented the cabin based on its location close to the resort and to take my kids to the snow for the first time. We all loved it. The cabin overlooks Bear Mountain resort and the views are breathtaking. From the living room the entire resort may be taken in. There was still snow on the ground from the last storm and the kids had a blast having snowball fights. We were just three minutes from the slopes and had a great time. The cabin was very clean and well maintained. Thank you for a great stay!

Return visit

  • 5 of 5

I stayed here last year and enjoyed it so much I returned this year. I recently remarried and wanted to share the experience with my new extended family. The cabin was as I remembered it but they added a log bed in the loft which my daughter loved and there was a new playseat w video games the kids loved. The air hockey was a big hit too. The adults loved the spectacular view. It was very clean and decorated for the holidays which was a nice touch. Cant wait to return! Thanks you!

Thanksgiving gateway

  • 4 of 5

I stayed with my husband and 1 year old daughter at the cabin over Thanksgiving weekend. First of all I wanted to say that the owners are excellent. They always replied quickly and had great suggestions for Restaurants, the area. etc. They were very welcoming and you couldnt ask for a better communication. The house is in a GREAT location. The view from the deck is amazing. The house had EVERYTHING you need. Very well equipped kitchen and house in general. The house is close to the little village and Big Bear city, as well as the slopes and the zoo. It was very peaceful and relaxing. The house was remarkably clean!!! The only reason why I don't give this review 5 star is, that there was too much stuff in the house. Too many couches, pillows, little decorative items, the closets were full and we couldn't hang up anything and the same in the bathroom. You couldn't really use the air hockey or fussballtable without moving furniture around. If you travel with a little kid it can get a little stressful to make sure nothing breaks etc. We enjoyed the stay and we would definitely recommend it to out friends and family!

Very charming and romantic

  • 4 of 5

My husband and I wanted to see the leaves changing color and feel the seasons change so we got away from the city and rented this cabin for the weekend. It was very clean and so romantic. The location is wonderful with views of the lake and the ski resort. It was so quiet and peaceful. What a charming cabin that was rustic with all the modern amenities and well stocked bathrooms and kitchen. The owners even had welcomed us with wine and treats. The fireplace was so romantic. Thank you!

First visit will definitely return

  • 5 of 5

This was such a treasure to find this chalet cabin in Big Bear. It was our first time visiting and we couldnt have asked for anything more. The view from the deck was amazing. It was in a very quiet area with a lot of open space around the cabin but still plenty close to town to shop for supplies. The rooms were very spacious and the loft was the place to be as it had fantastic views and plenty of games including a 3D tv with playstation. Definitely a great place for relaxing and getting away from city life and an amazing price. Hoping to come back soon, thank you for the opportunity to stay at such a charming place!

Car: necessary

After visiting Bear Mountain and Snow Summit Resorts, stop by the Moonridge Zoo across from Bear Mountain Resort and see the three grizzly bears and many other animals on display.

Then visit the Discovery Center on the North shore of Big Bear Lake. Enjoy miles of hiking trails both paved and unpaved. Stop by the many Marinas and rent a boat or take a Big Bear Lake cruise on the Ferry Boat or charter a fishing trip with your family or friends!

Stop by Village for some shopping along the many stores. Ask anyone in town where the old location of the Summit Resort used to be (yes it used to be elsewhere on the mountain in the 1950's). Thats got some of the best sledding around and it is free!

Finally, enjoy the many great eateries in and around town. Big Bear has some of the best Mexican Restaurants, Captains Anchorage has a great bar and Prime Rib, Grizzly Bear Manor is great for breakfast!
