Situated in Fitzroy Street, W1, we offer a top location in the heart of the West End in trendy Fitzrovia, a super central arty foodie paradise location with a villagey feel and Georgian architecture. The area was once home to such writers as Virginia Woolf, George Bernard Shaw and Arthur Rimbaud. Today it is a popular and lively neighbourhood with a residential and business mix and a bustling art scene. Over 50 art galleries (10% of all those in London) operate here. The numerous media companies based in the area feed into a trendy and vibrant buzz.
Fitzrovia has more restaurants than you'll ever get to visit (with new ones popping up all the time). Michelin stars, British pub grub, easy Italians and sandwich shops. fish n chips, Peruvian cuisine, Chinese, Greek, Indian, Mexican, Filipino. We've got them all and everything in between.
If you fancy a bit of home cooking, several supermarkets are close by (including a good Sainsburys, Tescos, Marks and Spencers Food Hall, Waitrose and Planet Organic). There's even a farmers' market not too far away.
Tourist London is easily accessible on foot or by tube.
The local area is buzzing but the flat is in a quiet street so you get the best of both worlds. For entertainment, you have Theatreland close by, numerous cinemas, comedy clubs, late night bars, dancing and nightclubs.
If shopping appeals, you can shop till you drop in nearby Oxford Street, Regent Street, Covent Garden, Carnaby Street, Camden Market and Bond Street. They are all a walk away.
For outside life, neighbouring Fitzroy Square is a peaceful and pleasant place to enjoy a sandwich and watch the world go by.
Alternatively, it's a 10 minute walk to Regent's Park, a wonderful 410-acre open space offering stylish gardens with cafés, rose and wildlife gardens, a boating lake, sports facilities, an open-air theatre and zoo.
You can walk to tourist London or take numerous transport options close by.
Our closest tubes are Warren Street, Goodge Street, Euston Square (all within 5 minute walk) and Tottenham Court Road and St Pancras (within a 10 minute walk)
Coming from Heathrow? Easy! Take the tube from Paddington direct to Euston Square
Coming from Gatwick? Easy! Take the tube from Victoria direct to Warren Street
Coming from Eurostar? Easy! Take a bus along the Euston Road or take the tube direct to Warren Street

Being so central, you can walk to all of tourist London. The British Museum is 10 minutes away. You've got Oxford Street / Soho very close by (a 10 minute walk), Covent Garden will take you about 15 minutes, Regent's Park about 10-15 minutes. Camden is a 5 minute bus ride. You can head in any direction and arrive somewhere interesting.
Numerous buses stop close by in Tottenham Court Road, Gower Street and Euston Road
You are in easy reach of all the sights.
Leicester Square and Trafalgar Square are an interesting 20 minute walk through Soho. Or just jump on the Northern line tube from Warren Street or Goodge Street and you'll be there in under 5 minutes.
Buckingham Palace is a 30 minute walk or a quick hop on the Victoria line (Warren Street through to Victoria @ 5 mins) or stop off at Green Park and enjoy the walk across one of London's famous parks to the palace.
The Northern line from Goodge Street takes you to Embankment in 5 minutes. From there you can walk along the river (5 mins) to Big Ben, the Houses of Parliament and Westminster Abbey. Or catch the boat from Embankment along to the Tower of London or Greenwich. Walk across the footbridge to the London Eye and Southbank (or keep going one more stop on the tube to Waterloo).
Tottenham Court Road tube will take you direct to the City and St Paul's Cathedral, so less than 20 minutes from the apartment.
Everywhere is very accessible.

We know the area well and can thoroughly recommend it for its central location, great transport links (although you'll probably be mostly on foot as tourist London is very walkable!) and wide choice of bars and restaurants. It's a highly desirable neighborhood with beautiful architecture and interesting streets. People come from all over London to enjoy some Fitzrovia life. This is a beautiful clean and modern fully-equipped home from home in the best central neighborhood in town!
This was overall a great rental experience. Communications from the owner were timely and helpful. Checking in and out could not be easier--we were able to pick up the keys from a secure location on our own schedule rather than having to arrange to meet someone and left the keys on our departure. The flat is very comfortably sized for two adults. It was still a little warm in London (late August) when we stayed, but the flat remained cool with open window and the help of some fans that were available. It's very conveniently located within walking distance of two Tube stations, and Euston and King's Cross are not far either. Oxford St is a pleasant walk away. The neighborhood has lots of restaurants and some grocery stores nearby. I would recommend this rental to anyone and would certainly consider renting it again.
We are a family of four and this is the second summer we have rented a flat from Liz,we are very happy with everything from booking,arriving and stay.Lovely flat,great location we will definately come back to this flat! Recomended!
The apartment is centrally located and easy to get to all kinds of public transportation. Although a bit small for our family of 5 adults, we made it work - the apartment is well appointed with everything we needed and Liz was an absolute pleasure to work with. The only downside is that there is a LOT of street noise! We needed the windows open for air, but there is a pub on the corner that draws a large, noisy, college crowd that was loud until after midnight each night. We were so thoroughly exhausted from daily sight-seeing activities, that we managed to sleep a bit despite all the noise. No problem if you are accustomed to city sounds, but for us suburban/rural dwellers it was not ideal.
Perhaps most importantly, all communication and interactions with the owner was crisp and timely. The flat was as described: clean, comfortable and well maintained. And anything we needed was readily available literally just around the corner: restaurants, the underground, banking, groceries, open markets, coffeehouses, taxis, etc. We'd stay here again- full stop.
This apartment is okay. It was clean but we found it small for a family of four, and it is on a noisy street. We found some of the host's expectations unreasonable (e.g. leaving absolutely nothing in the apartment including small food items that the next visitors might find helpful like a bit of butter). We also were unpleasantly surprised by the lack of basic supplies provided by the owner (one roll of toilet paper - really??? and no kitchen supplies at all - no coffee filters or coffee of any kind, no milk - this is the worst we've ever encountered from that perspective). It is in a great location though which may balance out the downsides for others. For the amount charged, we would rate this as an under-performing rental.
The final kicker is that our damage deposit, when refunded, was refunded at an exchange rate that was far below the going rate. This apparently has something to do with VRBO being US-based company and all currency transactions going to US dollars first before going into your home currency. This is a major flaw as we lost a considerable amount of real money, which means this rental cost us even more. There is no reason that damage deposits should be subject to currency variations and VRBO should fix this issue. They will not have us as customers again if they do not address this matter.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this apartment. It was very clean, clearly new and cared for very well. The kitchen was well appointed and Liz communicated with us consistently to ensure we were happy with our stay. The location was nice, less than two blocks from the tube station and an easy walk to many delicious restaurants and shopping but far enough from the action that we were not disturbed at night. Wander along the road to Charlotte Street or Goodge Street for a fantastic range of shops and a huge choice of delicious restaurants and bars. Or, go further afield to Soho or Covent Garden (15 minutes by foot) and again you're spoil for choice.
Tourist London is easily accessible on foot or by tube. Any direction you go in has plenty to see and do. The streets are interesting and safe, great for exploring.
You can walk to the British Museum and the British Library. Camden is a 5 minute bus journey. You can walk to Oxford Street in 5 minutes, Covent Garden in 15 minutes, Regent's Park in 10 minutes, Marylebone High Street in 10 minutes. You could walk to Leicester Square in 15 minutes or go by tube in 5 minutes. You can get to Southbank and the London Eye in less than 10 minutes by tube.
