Lovely holiday good apartment

We enjoyed a lovely week in Cabopino. The apartment was very nice and Bernhard the owner was very helpful and prompt at responding to us. The apartment is very nice the only criticism as we were a group of ladies was that there was no long hanging space in either bedroom and in the downstairs bedroom didn't have hardly any wardrobe space, and not even a chest of drawers. That said the apartment was really good, in an amazing spot and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Judy Dawson

Not quite up to the standard we paid for

The property owner Bernard was pleasant, easy to deal with and responsive. The location of the property was good and there were no issues regarding access and use of the property. However the property management and the barriers set up by Homeaway detracted from what should have been a much better experience. The property was a bit dark and gloomy -

needed lights on all the time. We have communicated directly with Bernard about a number of issues that really weren't up to standard. We also lost 30 pounds in exchange rate fees due to the requirement for a Eur300 deposit which was imposed by the property manager. This didn't help anyone except the banks. Some improvements that could be made to bring the property up to scratch:

1. Launder the linen properly - we had to wash the bed sheets to remove a musty smell

2. Sort out the air conditioners - one didn't work and the other required us to empty a 5 l condensate container daily

3. Replace the mishmash of cutlery and crockery with good quality pieces

4. We would expect a dishwasher at this price

5. Basically go through the whole place and attend to small items (like the TV set up)

6. Replace items that are in poor condition

7. Provide basic provisions such as dish washing liquid, shampoo, body wash - all things that you would expect in a high priced rental

8. The bedroom door could not be locked so we couldn't properly secure the property (albeit that this just led onto a balcony)

Overall these small things were mainly annoying and detracted from the experience which is why I have rated it as only moderate value for money. It would also have been much better if Homeaway had enabled us to communicate with Bernard before making the booking - this is a serious flaw in their system because it disables prevention of problems.
