About William and Marianne Roberts
My wife and I grew up coming to The Mount Gretna Lake in the summer time. My uncle owned a summer home which I would visit and my Grand Parents always wanted a summer home here but never made it happen. When the opportunity to buy our cottage presented itself we moved on it and have never regretted our decision.
William and Marianne Roberts purchased this Cottage in 1998
Why William and Marianne Roberts chose Mount Gretna
Very Cute romantic cottage in the woods. Very close to all the activity in Mount Gretna. Theater-Playhouse, Lake, Jigger Shop, Hideaway, Gift Shop, Playground Basketball Court
What makes this Cottage unique
Cottage sits high above the street and reminds you of a very nice tree house. Cottage was built in the 1890s and still holds that original romantic charm.
Sports & Adventure Activities
Adorable cottage in the woods.
We enjoyed our long weekend in this adorable home. Felt like I was visiting my great grandmother with all the antiques. Lovely location close to everything in Mt Gretna. We enjoyed the walking path behind the home, walks all around the neighborhood, nearby hiking and music at the playhouse and nearby Tabernacle. Such a friendly neighborhood with people sitting out on porches and waving as we walked by. The porch was delightful. Really does feel as though you're up in the trees. We spent a lot of time sitting out there. My daughters enjoyed the sleeping porch, but we wished the windows on that space could be opened. Also wished the second bedroom had a curtain that could be closed. It's a colorfully decorated 100+ year old home that to us felt like a step back in time. If you enjoy quirky places, you'll love it as we did. The house was well equipped with everything we needed. I'm already considering another trip back.
Beautiful house, had a great stay.
Art show weekend in the tree house
We really enjoyed our stay in the tree house during art show weekend. The cottage is cute and very colorful; the perfect compliment to the art weekend theme. The cottage is small, but set up nicely. It was perfect for my family of four. Thanks for the nice weekend.
Did not stay after we arrived.
House in a nice location. But shower was not clean. Had hair in tub. Left and did not stay.
Sorry you were not satisfied with our cottage.
I checked the cottage a couple of days after your checkin date. I also found a few hairs in the bathtub that our cleaning service obviously missed. Other that that the cottage was pristine. I believe that you decided not to stay for other reasons like the cottage was not in close proximity to attractions you wanted to visit. Most people who stay in Mount Gretna are there for the unique attractions this community has to offer. If you want to visit Strasburg RR or Gettysburg they are 25 and 60 miles away. I have experienced that no matter how nice a property there will always be someone who is not satisfied. Sorry you were disappointed
